Who would get better tips in a retaurant a female server or a male?

It is the personality. This lady at my work looks young and she basically talk to everyone like they're friends because shes so comfortable and open. People feel welcomed.

Guys too, my boyfriend does so much flaring whilst making a drink and people get impressed so they tip him heaps of money.

I guess whoever impresses and makes the customer feels welcome gets the tip.

Then again...at strip clubs, obviously the female gets tipped  ,especially in bars etc I dont think any guys would like tipping a male at a club or a bar.

usually it is the opposite s*x. I know that if I wait on a table full of older women I am lucky to get 10% and a compliment. But if I wait on a table full of guys I get more compliments and about 50-60% tips.

As long as they come back to check on me to make sure the food is to my liking and that my iced tea or water glass is never empty, male or female, they would get the same amount if they both provide the same type of service.

It really boils my butt when I've run out of what ever I was drinking and I have to flag down an employee walking by to ask for more iced tea.  That would reflect on the tip, male or female.

I tip based on the service I received, not by gender.

dunno, i don't really tip based on their s*x, i tip based on their service. usually the girls r nicer n the guys r faster at serving, from my experience

it shouldn't matter, but their was actually a report done a couple years ago(dont remember where I read it) that stated males make better tips than females

i guess opposite s*x attract ... so

if a male server for female customers...

and a female server for male customers..

would get a better tip...

I personally tip each the same.  If I get good service, a pleasant smile and respect, you get tipped well, regardless of gender.  But I would say that women get tipped better, especially if there are men at the table.
