Okay say you were working inside your house. And you had a 9 feet pool in your back yard. So you were going to clean the pool,so you opened the gate (to the pool, the gate is around the pool) then you hear the oven beeping. So you hurry inside closing the backyard door. (But not closing the pool gate thinking it would be ok.) Then a small toddler was running away from the parents, and the parents couldn't catch him. So he wandered in to your yard then he falls into the pool and drowns! Then the parents come in the yard when you come out. There was a huge screech! Tho mother see his boy on the bottom of the pool, she saw excalty what happened. Who's falt would it be? The house owner? or the Parents? Will the parents sue? Will the house owner be found guilty?

  1. Well, the child was on your property. Since it's your yard and you had no knowledge, I think you would not be at fault.

  2. Circumstances and human nature being as they are, each would blame the other for being careless. The parents, for letting the child become out of control. The pool owner for leaving the gate open. There's a whole scenario as who to blame. The fact would be it's no one's fault as it would have a happened for reason. God would have a plan as to why He allowed it and only He would know the answer.

  3. Gosh, I really hope this didn't happen.  That is a horrible situation.  I couldn't imagine being the mom that saw my own child drown. Anyways to answer your question, I believe that you wouldn't be in trouble expecially since you didn't even know the child was in your yard. It would be different I think if you were for say having a pool party and a child drowned in your pool.

  4. This would be a good question to ask in the legal section.

Ultimately, the parents of the toddler are responsible for the well being of their child.  If the child got away from the parents and something bad happened to the child, it is their fault for not being better parents.  Of course some times there is no real fault, despite the best and most reasonable actions of all involved, tragic accidents can happen.

I wouldn't be hugely surprised if under the right circumstances the bereaved parents tried to lash out, claiming that the pool owner should have been more careful.  But I doubt much would really come of it.

  5. well i believe the parents should be responsible because they shouldve been keeping a closer eye on their child, or held him.

  6. you

  7. The homeowner would be held responsible.

  8. Sounds like a homework question.

Hope you can figure it out!

  9. Be yourself....

  10. Well if the parents was not watching the kid it's more there fault than the house owner so just be kind and be a good neighbor and be there if they need help

  11. omg did the kid die?!

  12. yea they will sue... and win.

  13. The parents will be found guilty for not taking care of there responsibility. Keeping the kid in a safe area. But also There is a bigger lesson to be learned ...Each played a role of guilt, especially the more time progresses - Therefore its best to take care of things before they get out of hand. Like for instance me I'm keeping my kids on a short leash.
