I think it's a really neat idea, and could be an interesting alternative to IndyCar. We could see people like Boris Said, Max Papis, and Ron Fellows every week doing what they're good at. It wouldn't have to be a top series, of course. In my opinion, it could even be run opposite the Nationwide series. What do y'all think?

  1. i would not

  2. They already got it.The Rolex Sport Car series

  3. I agree and it would keep them out of the real drivers way. Absolutely give them their own series Wow it would be like F1 all over what a concept!!

  4. Heyyell I'd rather see cup on dirt.

NASCAR started on the dirt roads running from the law, then they started running dirt ovals and the sport was born.

Less road courses and more dirt.

  5. cool but what about when the drivers get to cup then they have to drive ovals something new to them

  6. :-(    :-(   :-(   :-(

4 frowns down at the Jeff C household.

  7. I don't think that would work but I would like to see a couple of other road courses added to the season and at least one in the "chase". If your not going to have one in the chase then you should eliminate them totally.

  8. The SCCA had the Trans-Am Series which ran from 1966 until 2006. When it started it was pretty much stock appearing coupes running road courses only. As the series progressed through the years it became more like NASCAR (kind of stock appearing but 100% race car). In its final years Jaguars ruled the series.

Scott Pruett is a 3 time champion of the series (1987, 1994, 2003)

Boris Said won the championship in 2002.

I would love to see the series comeback as a showroom stock series with the Camaro, Challenger and Mustangs next season.

  9. Most drivers would prefer to have a mix of road courses and ovals. I like to watch both and think that all road races would be boring to me.

  10. No Way!   I barely get through road courses now without snoozing.

  11. I would not want a season of all road courses.  I would, however, like to see at least 4 of them in a season.  That's still only 11% of all of the races.  They are, to me, more exciting than many other of the tracks in NASCAR.

I wouldn't mind seeing a series that is evenly matched between 25% road courses, 25% short tracks, 25% mid size ovals and 25% superspeedways.  The mid size ovals are sooo boring any more, yet that is what most of the races consist of.

  12. sounds like a good idea to me

  13. An idea best left to the Formula 1 people.  NASCAR's current variety of tracks gives all drivers a chance to showcase extra skills and since it aint broke, why "fix" it?

  14. If you really want to see something like this wait til after the season's over and check out when Speed rebroadcasts the Austrailian V8 Supercar series(Marcus Ambrose's old stomping grounds). h**l they even have a course that's U-shaped. It's got Ford vs. GM (Holden) and the Ford Falcon's a lot nicer looking than the Fusion.

  15. NO, I'm with Jeff Gordon is g*y on this one. I never thought I would say that.

    redundancy is boredom

  16. no. Nascar is not Formula 1.

  17. Bunnie and i think that is a dumb idea.  Nascar is nascar for a reason Bunnie says...

    XXOO Bunnie and Mandy

    Best Friends Forever

  18. What do I think? Well, I think that NASCAR should s***w the road courses and make all the series only ovals. Road courses suck.

  19. JGG said it best...NASCAR is not Formula 1.

That being said, I personally would like to see one or two more road courses in the season, and not repeats of the two that are already there.
