Do you think these guys would have a chance in the new COT? I certainly think they'd be better than *some* of the drivers out there...

  1. Neither of them has any business being in a Cup car.  Atwood was a total failure.  Park was decent but accidents & head injuries took away his career.

  2. What have they done to deserve a ride again?

  3. I always liked Atwood but after several shots in the #27 Brewco car in Nationwide either last year or the year before (I can't remember)....he just couldn't find the magic they once shared together back BEFORE he went CUP. I would like to see him get a shot BUT I think that ship has sailed....you got to prove yourself in today's modern NASCAR...I honestly don't think he has. Park was the hero then the red headed step child at DEI. He was definitely a stong contender until crashes sidelined his career. Again he tried to reprove himself in the TRUCK series but he couldn't find his competitive edge. I would love see both of them back BUT I think they would just be released again, which is a shame but a harsh reality....just an opinion of course.

  4. they both sucked with the old cars. what makes you think they'll be any better with these cars?

  5. Casey Attwood this year ran the #05 in nationwide this year and finished like 35th or somethin. and steve park i think is racing in the camping world series i forget but yea it be great 2 see them back in cup :)

  6. Casey Atwood?   Are you serious.? He was one sports worst all time flops next to Ryan Leaf.

  7. Would love to see Steve Park back in a cup ride.

I would also give Atwood a shot as well - but in a competitive car.  He was in Evernham's car in their first season, then put in another new team.   I think he never really got a chance to show his stuff in the Cup series.  If he had been put into the #24 or #20 he would have done well.

  8. Casey come on...he is a dud! But Steve Park ... if he had not had his accident and head injury he would still be racing. He is just not able to do it anymore.

  9. casey maybe.  parks no way.   i picked him to win the UAW several years ago,  and parks pulled it off.

  10. Casey Atwood is long past. He was hailed as the next "big thing" when he came up to then Winston Cup, but well, nothing ever happened.

I miss having Steve Park in the Cup series. He was a genuine, down to earth guy, and just one of those good guys out there. But unfortunately he had that head injury a few years back, so that affected his career a ton.
