  1. A little warming is generally beneficial to all those who have common sense about the issue and have not bought into the hysterical hype.  I don't pretend we can stop global warming any more than I pretend to know we started it.  Those that pretend to know otherwise are lying to you, biased, or are ignorant IMO.

  2. Those who are bantering the most about it are those who stand to make the most money from the efforts...surprisingly, the efforts by the US are already doing more to reduce CO emissions than many other industrialized nations that are doing nothing to reduce their impact on climate change.

  3. i would...but i would like to stop al gore more....

news flash...it isn't as imminent as the media makes it..

  4. yes because it is not good for the atmosphere

  5. Bush (?)

  6. i would=/

  7. did you know that some scientists are now proving global warming isnt happening?

its been proven that the temperatures have actually decreased over the previous years and that parts of polar icecaps are starting to build up again.

dont get me wrong though, stopping pollution and gas would be great, but maybe try looking into global warming some more to get some more info about it.

  8. i would love to but one is not a glob

  9. I would.  I hate though that people like Al Gore and the democrats picked it as their main issue that they are "fighting" to stop, I say "fighting" to stop because they talk but don't do anything.

Global warming exists but the jury is still out on whether we are causing it or not. I personally believe that we are not the cause totally but we are accelerating the earth's natural move toward a warmer period.  Whether or not you think we are the cause, we are still polluting and destroying the earth which we live and depend on.  I don't understand how someone could believe that it's okay to endlessly polute the earth.  Our destruction of the earth is already affecting us and all other living organisms.  We only get one earth, lets use it wisely.

  10. me

  11. I want to stop global warming a lot!

  12. Theirs nothing you can do, global warming is a naturally occuring cycle... it is not manmade.

  13. I would, i think Earth is gonna burn up cause were stupid and don't care about the environment!

  14. Man caused global warming is a myth, there is nothing we can do about it.

  15. Me.

  16. if it really existed.but it wasn't many years ago that the coming ice age, and global cooling brought on by burning fossil fuels was the scare  Try searching on Google for "Time magazine, global cooling, coming ice age.

think critically for a moment.  Carbon emissions from burning fossil fuels are alleged to be causing global warming and a greenhouse effect.  In this scenario plants should grow very well as the temperature, and humidity would be perfect for them.  Just in case you are wondering plants take in carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and they use it (powered by sunlight through photosynthesis) to make the proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids in their leaves, fruits, roots, and anything else that they produce.  Animals eat these plants and often times other animals eat those animals.if all of these plants and animals congregate into one area and they all die, then over thousands of years they become crude oil  So basically what you have is a gigantic circle of carbon which starts as carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and ultimately ends up as carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.sometimes it takes one person to stand up, raise his hand, and say "wait a minute, did anyone think this through?global warming is much more of a religion than it is good science.  There is money to be made and lost depending upon where you take your stand on this issue.certainly the petroleum producers have a large stake in that, but that does not mean that their opponents are automatically altruistic, and correct.  The global warming proponents are not completely immune to fabricating numbers, exaggerating numbers, or using scare tactics/disinformation to advance their cause.  It would not have been very popular in Germany in the late 1930s, 1940s to stand up and say "these Jewish people are as much human beings as we are."  It would have been accurate but, also dangerous and very unpopular especially with the military and political establishment of the day.

  17. I def. do!!! It's so sad that some uneducated  people think that it is not a problem.  Its a huge problem and we need to start making some changes!

  18. Why stop it? It is a natural process which benefits most life forms. It is a hole lot better than the alternative, freezing our asses off.

  19. The United States is very fond of the idea of stopping global warming. The two countries that are not are China and India. Those two countries make up over 2/3 of the world's population. If the U.S. can get them to join in the idea will be a great success.

  20. Me! But its too late now, we can't stop it only slow down the process.

  21. I do not believe that global warming can be stopped.

I believe the earth goes through this cycle every few million years or so.

I live in the UK, archaeologists have discovered fossils in the river estuaries of Essex that show the climate a couple of million years ago in the South East of England was that of Malaysia.

The ice caps have melted before, when no man walked the earth and the natural cycle will see them melt again.

I believe we contribute in the speeding up of global warming, but only slightly, I do not think we will stop global warming.     I think to protect the environment for our descendants, we should protect the rain forests, the endangered species.

    But, thats just my opinion.

  22. try turning off as many electric apliances

    in your house every month

    it saves pollutents

even though u dont hav a rcycling box at home

run across the street to recycle

i do it at my church

just let your dishes air dry take of the heat dryer setting

just go on google and find other ways

    global warming cant stoped

but it can decrease put forth an effort

please give me a thumbs up

  23. Go and visit your doctor and ask him/her that question.

He or she will prescribe you Prozac to control your panic attacks created by this government scam.

    The government is the winner.

    My 2 cents.

  24. me!!

  25. Global warming -- a gradual increase in planet-wide temperatures -- is now well documented and accepted by scientists as fact. A panel convened by the U.S National Research Council, the nation's premier science policy body, in June 2006 voiced a "high level of confidence" that Earth is the hottest it has been in at least 400 years, and possibly even the last 2,000 years. Studies indicate that the average global surface temperature has increased by approximately 0.5-1.0°F (0.3-0.6°C) over the last century. This is the largest increase in surface temperature in the last 1,000 years and scientists are predicting an even greater increase over this century. This warming is largely attributed to the increase of greenhouse gases (primarily carbon dioxide and methane) in the Earth's upper atmosphere caused by human burning of fossil fuels, industrial, farming, and deforestation activities.

Average global temperatures may increase by 1.4-5.8ºC (that's 2.5 - 10.4º F) by the end of the 21st century. Although the numbers sound small, they can trigger significant changes in climate. (The difference between global temperatures during an Ice Age and an ice-free period is only about 5ºC.) Besides resulting in more hot days, many scientists believe an increase in temperatures may lead to changes in precipitation and weather patterns. Warmer ocean water may result in more intense and frequent tropical storms and hurricanes. Sea levels are also expected to increase by 0.09 - 0.88 m. in the next century, mainly from melting glaciers and expanding seawater . Global warming may also affect wildlife and species that cannot survive in warmer environments may become extinct. Finally, human health is also at stake, as global warming may result in the spreading of certain diseases such as malaria, the flooding of major cities, a greater risk of heat stroke for individuals, and poor air quality.

Climate change is very likely having an impact now on our planet and its life, according to the latest installment of a report published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). And the future problems caused by rising seas, growing deserts, and more frequent droughts all look set to affect the developing world more than rich countries, they add. The report is the second chapter of the IPCC's Fourth Assessment -- the most comprehensive summary yet of research into the causes and effects of climate change. Factors

    Greenhouse Gases

The increase in greenhouse gases caused by human activity is often cited as one of the major causes of global warming. These greenhouse gases reabsorb heat reflected from the Earth's surface, thus trapping the heat in our atmosphere. This natural process is essential for life on Earth because it plays an important role in regulating the Earth's temperature. However, over the last several hundred years, humans have been artificially increasing the concentration of these gases, mainly carbon dioxide and methane in the Earth's atmosphere. These gases build up and prevent additional thermal radiation from leaving the Earth, thereby trapping excess heat.

    Solar Variability & Global Warming

Some uncertainty remains about the role of natural variations in causing climate change. Solar variability certainly plays a minor role, but it looks like only a quarter of the recent variations can be attributed to the Sun. At most. During the initial discovery period of global warming, the magnitude of the influence of increased activity on the Sun was not well determined.

Solar irradiance changes have been measured reliably by satellites for only 30 years. These precise observations show changes of a few tenths of a percent that depend on the level of activity in the 11-year solar cycle. Changes over longer periods must be inferred from other sources. Estimates of earlier variations are important for calibrating the climate models. While a component of recent global warming may have been caused by the increased solar activity of the last solar cycle, that component was very small compared to the effects of additional greenhouse gases. According to a NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) press release, "...the solar increases do not have the ability to cause large global temperature increases...greenhouse gases are indeed playing the dominant role..." The Sun is once again less bright as we approach solar minimum, yet global warming continues.

HUMANS MADE THIS MESS AND WE ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN CLEAN IT UP! SAVE THE WORLD! SEA LEVELS WILL RISE, MORE INTENSE HURRICANES, AND DIRTY AIR! RECYCLE: PAPER, PLASTIC, AND BOTTLES! *YES WE CAN STOP GLOBAL WARMING!*

  26. d**n, who wouldn't?
