Me & My Relationship with Me

Starring Me & Introducing Me

I came home late

I heard strange sounds coming from my bedroom

I did not wait

I had to get inside, and soon

I opened the door slowly

And there I was with another me

My heart sank lowly

I felt I wasn't enough for me

How could this happen?

What have I done to myself?

I felt me snapping

But I got a quick hold of myself

I packed my clothes

And told me I was leaving me

I punched myself in the nose

Screaming at myself vehemently

I moved away

Now I'm getting life in order

I divorced me

I got everything and my daughters

  1. Okay, the end confused me at first. But then I caught on and I really like that.

  2. Nuts-Field is the last station of the train of poetry.Only (accomplished) poets can tolerate the trip.

This poem is different. It dealt w/ a hard to handle subject, but U dealt with it anyway. It could 'v been better, if U gave it more time, more focusing. U made me live the situation, but the picture was a bit blurred. The (script) was funny though, but it could 'v been funnier. My Greetings!

  3. Sounds like a lot of "mes" running around.  When you opened the bedroom door - "there I was with another me" - so now there are three  "mes"? I can see being in conflict with yourself - but also having yourself being unfaithful to yourself with another self - is starting to feel like a mirrored love triangle of self exploration ♥

  4. *sigh* I wish I could write poems...

  5. This poem is for laughs, but really I've known many people who needed to "get over themselves and move on". This includes myself, I've spent way too much time in personal introspection. If I gaze into my navel too long I may sink to the bottom and be lost among the lint.

In the movie, Twister, there is a line by Helen Hunt's character  that goes, "Good grief, he really is in love with himself; I just thought it was  a summer fling".

  6. i think it was sarcastic about a betrayal....iam sorry if that was true.

  7. Now which Semper is false

    the one in the room

    the one at the door

    or the one leaving.......hmm?

Get rid of those mirrors! lol

  8. now that is honest self examination, don't be too hard on yourself, though.  You are Human.

  9. It's wonderful that you can use such depth, but also comical skills with suck a "touchy" subject.  You took a serious subject, one that many couldn't handle and made a cute and funny poem out of it.  I love the way in the end you got yourself together, punched yourself in the nose, moved away, divorced yourself , you got everything and your daughters.......absolutely beautiful.  It didn't come out right the way I wrote it, but I understood it perfectly.  One struggles against the many sides of ones self.  Bravo once more!!!!  Take a bow my friend!!!

    Peace & Love  :)

  10. I  had the same problem and then one day when I was humming a song from the Swing era. Someone said, "You're dating yourself." That sounded like a good idea so I tried it. Well, one thing led to another until someone else said, "Go P***k yourself."  From then on, it was strictly platonic.

  11. LOL!  I like that ... it should be mandatory on all our job descriptions.

  12. I've had to kick my butt several times...

  13. Knowing this is false makes it hilarious.

I hate when I'm working and I catch myself talking to myself and there are other people around! HA!

  14. You don't see it till you see it, ones self.

    Kudos

  15. Straight words of what we all know but few dare to speak. For me it hits home ...three times at least...Yours truly, the multi headed hydro

  16. After answering my question with the poem "Cereal Killer" I had to read this one. You really have a knack for poetry and a lot of range also. I think I may start reading a few more of your poems.

Thanks for "cereal Killer" It gave me a good laugh.

  17. ok which one of you left the lid up? lol

  18. Love it! Sometimes we are our own worst enemy and have to move past that to get anywhere.

  19. A true humorist. I do this all the time. Sometimes, I even look in the mirror and see someone else altogether. I don't laugh about it the way you do, though.

  20. That really isn't funny.  That is just life.  Hope you are doing well.
