  1. sydney will remain the best because every single piece of the puzzle was perfect, im sorry but china's sanitised commi smogged out games dont have a chance apart from being as boring as dog c**p i cant work it out all the performances are there but it just isn't exciting

  2. It makes no difference to me if some old f**t Say's best ever or not,Its not half obvious you are an Aussie imbricated with national pride & hubris,But remember even the smallest & poorest of Countries has a strong belief in their National pride & there is nothing wrong with that. For different reasons people will give different Games as being the best.   Aussie Aussie Aussie Oy Oy Oy ! Games where great in Australia & just as good in the home of Olympics Greece for Righteous & traditional reasons. As a fair go to China' should we not wait until these games are over before we decide one way or the other.

  3. quote from a previous reply to this question:

"Also, switching the swimming finals to the morning has been a complete disaster. the excitement isnt as big and the evening shedule has been very dull (with boring heat swims)"

might i point out that switching the swim finals to the mornings was the idea of the american broadcasting stations. they wanted it in the morning so that it'll be broadcasted in the evening in the USA - prime time for them. and since they're the big sponsors or whatever, they were able to be persuasive.

as for my input for this question...i'm chinese-australian and i think the sydney olympics is the best. i think we did a great job without trying to overdo things or outdo the previous cities. i can understand why hosting the olympics is a big deal to the chinese and for them a lot of national pride is at stake. and the chinese (same as with most oriental nations) "losing face" by not putting on a good show is not an option. hence, why they spent so much money, used so many people, and are trying so hard in all aspects to put on a good show.

as for the games being described as "boring" maybe that has to do with what channel 7 is choosing to broadcast??

  4. I enjoyed the summer games in Sydney.  I haven't seen all of the olympic games so I couldn't tell you if Sydney was the best.  It was certainly better than China.  I did enjoy the opening for the Olympics this year....It's a shame that the fireworks had to be computer generated.  For a nation who's credited for the discovery of Black Powder, they sure f---ed that one up.  Maybe this is because the recipe for black powder wasn't really theirs, especially when one of the key ingredients doesn't even exist in China.

  5. Every country thinks their Olympics were the best and the IOC President ends every Olympics by procliaming it as the best ever.

I'm sure those in Italy think the Turin Olympics were the best and people in Canada will think the Vancouver games will be the best.

By any chance, are you Australian?

  6. Yes, the Sydney Olympics were awesome

These games are boring and full of controversy with low crowd attendance, pollution, and the little girl fake singing in the opening ceremony. Although the opening ceremony was probably better than sydeny overall sydeny wins by a mile.

Also, switching the swimming finals to the morning has been a complete disaster. the excitement isnt as big and the evening shedule has been very dull (with boring heat swims)

  7. who said it was. Athens's was bloody great. The Chinese olympics are bloody boring. I thought the world finally found out that they've been building that country to be this great big powerful dragon, but to be honest its the least exciting Olympics I've ever watched.

  8. I think the best Olympics ever was SYDNEY. I don't care who votes for what country!.

  9. I do Melbourne Boi. Even if the Sydney olympics aren't the best ever, they still are a zillion miles better than this faisco that is the Beijing games.

  10. Sydney was great. Athens was a controversy. And Beijing is great so far.

  11. What he's saying is they are great because he's Chinese, and the entire games have been about China. This is the Chinese dream come true, when everyone else is ignored and China gets all the attention.

The Olympics are supposed to be an international event, not one country spending 50 billion dollars and putting kids through boot camp for 10-20 years to become the master race. Australia spent 1.5 billion dollars, and the Olympics were just fine. These Olympics have been completely dominated by the political andeconomicc hegemony of the Chinese - and the non-Chinese people have let them get away with it. We should just leave the Olympics for the Chinese. That's what they want anyway. The rest of us are just here to give them the attention they so desperately crave.

  12. I don't know, who?

What is your point; please explain.
