im just curious over other peoples opinions. for me it is a no brainer that kurt should have this job. leinart is young, unproven, and in my opinion over rated.

  1. I think they should start Leinart because u have to give him his full chance at playing and let Warner keep teaching him.  But if he does to bad then put Warner in there.  If lienart cant do it this season or atleast prove himself I think he is gonna be done for awhile or till they find someone else because Kurt is about done too.

  2. Leinart is the future start him he has to prove himself. Warner is a great back up that is still capable of winning games as long as you do not ask to much of him. My choice is Leinart.

  3. after his 3ints.......let warner start

  4. Neither. I would probably cut both and go after Michael Vick when he got out of the pen...

Seriously, I'd start Leinart because he is your future most likely.. Who wants f'in Kurt Warner as their future? No one..

  5. You invested in your future with Lienart, I think that this is the peak of your teams talent level, Edge will only lose production as time goes on, this is the best crop of talent that you will be able to surround Matt with, I you don't make your move now then you prolly will miss your shot, he's not a rookie anymore, and he has had sometime to learn the O

  6. Kurt will give you only 2 years at best.  Matt has at least 10.  You need to get matt experence and he won't do that waching Kurt from the sidelines.

  7. matt leinart three reasons 1 your an idiot no offense 2 matt leinart was a collage star and 3 kurt warner is older and not very good

  8. To start the season Imma go with Warner. The man threw for 27 TD's last season and helped win several games.Havin Leinart as a backup is the perfect senario for the Cardinals where if Warner doesnt win or show's he cant take it anymore Leinart comes right in and is egar to play.

  9. Leinart; Kurt Warner can't play forever. If he is overrated (which I agree with you on, but there's still not enough game time to prove it one way or the other), it's best to know sooner rather than later so the Cards can go in a different direction if they have to.

  10. Leinart is more interested in being a playboy, Warner is older but he's proven.

I personally feel like Leinart will be one of the bigger busts in NFL history because of his self-destructive lifestyle.

  11. Is there another choice?

Seriously, Warner is the QB you want if you need to win now, which the Cardinals do. The problem is that he is fragile and old, not a good combination.

The Cardinals dilemma is that they burned a top pick on a player who, as you've noted, is probably overrated. Leinart played in a system that basically guarnateed his success at USC. The coaching and level of talent on the Trojans was far superior to most teams he faced, so he had a decided edge.

Now he's with a team that's trying to develop into a contender and he suddenly finds himself playing against defenses that are faster and smarter than what he's accustomed to and coaches that are able to confuse him. The shoe is on the other foot, so to speak, and it's becoming apparent that Leinart can't adapt to the pro game.

I believe that the Cards can become a playoff team with Leinart running the offense--those 2 incredible receivers he has can help him appear to be adequate--but they'll need to upgrade their QB position if they hope to make a serious run at the Super Bowl.
