Silva has great offense, but Griffin has excellent defense, plus the fact that he's not that easy to stagger. What do y a think?

  1. Silva would win forsure he beat dan henderson who would murder forrest and usually fights at 205 so if silva goes up to 205 he would beat forrest but Rampage would beat silva At 205

  2. two good fighters but silva wud take the win by tko. his striking iz accurate, fast, powerful, and too much for griffin.

  3. silva...tko rd 2

  4. As much as I love Anderson Silva, it's really kind of silly to get caught up in the hype and expect victory, let alone domination when Silva is a middleweight and Forrest is at LHW.

Forrest probably wouldn't be able to cut those 20lbs, so Silva would have to go up to 205 for it to be competitive. Silva is crazy, but not a young BJ "Let me fight Lyoto Machida who is ridiculously larger than me" Penn type of crazy.

That might not sound like much, but if Silva went up 20 lbs, the striking and agility that he is so well known for would be highly affected, and would probably have to result in him playing a less aggressive gameplan, not to mention getting used to fighting heavier on the fly, which can really take a fighter out of his element.

Let's say they do fight as they are. With the 20lb difference, the lack of height advantage that Silva usually enjoys, and Griffin's notoriously hard chin, Silva would have a hard time setting up his thai clinch, and would have to stand off and try to pick away with leg kicks. The only reasonable way to secure a victory for the Spider would be for him to put Forrest on his back and to use his excellent but generally untested BJJ to attain mount and submit/TKO him.

In reality, as exciting and excellent of a fighter Anderson Silva is, he should stay away from the LHW division.

A much fairer and possibly more exciting fight would be for Silva to drop to Welterweight and fight against George St. Pierre.

    An excellent but unreasonable question.

  5. Depends, are we talking 205 or 185? If 185, then Silva. If 205, then Griffin. Size makes the difference on this one.

  6. Silva, KO round 1

  7. While theres no doubt Silva is a great fighter maybe the #1 pound for pound in the world. Griffins size and strength would be the difference maker. He wouldn't knockout or submit Silva but he would grind a tough hard fought Unanimous Descion.
