i was a big kermit cintron fan,but have serious doubts about him having the heart and mental toughness it takes to beat the best, i think he was beaten mentally in the margarito  2nd fight before it started. cotto can take punishment and showed great heart and ability to come back from being hurt. cotto is also a bruising punisher ,i think more so than margarito ,so if cintron cant take margaritos poundings he certainly couldnt handle cottos.

There is no guarentee that Cotto would beat Margarito but he can sure beat Cintron.  If Cintron had any chance against Cotto it went out the window when Margarito went through him like a knife through hot butter.  Margarito BROKE him.

Cintron is SURE to suffer serious confidence problems after the beating he suffered at Margarito's hands.  I thought the fight would be more competitive but it's been a long time since I've see such a one-sided beating.  

Cotto easily beats what's left of Cintron who probably won't even fight again for a long time.

Im gonna go with Miguel Cotto even though you say Cotto has a suspect chin it hasn't been a issue since moving up to welter weight and im not sure if you activley box but those 7 Lbs. make a big diffrence to the human body.

In the Margarito-Cintron fight we also saw what effect a body shot could have on Kermit and Cotto is the ultimite body puncher. Cotto also has very under rated defencive skills. He's able to move in all directions.  

Im not saying Cintron cant beat Cotto. I would just call it unlikely at this point Cintron has shown he needs to polish his defence and boxing skills(Like he did against Margarito in the 1st round) against high oppisition.

Miguel cotto for sure....Kermit has power but cotto has great defense, unlike margo that stood up with Kermit, cotto would box him and dissect him,KO for sure....

You are very correct.  Cotto doesn't have a great chin and Cintron can punch very hard.  But right now, Cintron has a damage psyche and I don't know if he could stand in there to fire the punches that could cause trouble for Cotto.  Overall, I think Cotto has just too many weapons and he would beat Cintron by stoppage.

Cintron right now is in a bad spot.  He is a guy that there is no real benefit to fight.  He is still young and dangerous.  But he doesn't have a belt and is too risky to put in there as a stepping stone.  The only way he is going to get a meaningful fight is if he rebuilds with some impressive wins over mid caliber opposition or he gets someone like Joshua Clottey who fears nobody to accept a bout.

Cotto has better head and body movement than people give him credit for. Also, if you happened to catch his fight with Mosely, who hits harder than Cintron, he has a sturdy enough chin. Cotto, and it doesnt get past round 5.

Styles make fights. Yes, I am a Cintron fan but talking from a boxing point of view. Cotto could wear his body down. To get something you have to give something. Cotto defense is not that good. I wouldn't compare Cotto to Margo. Margo has a better chan, stamina and work rate. Cotto is a better technacial fighter than Margo. It's said that Cintron has the hardest punch in the Welter. Margo took Cintron best punch, Margo pressured Cintron and made him work hard. It can go two way's. If Cotto doesn't make Cintron work, get's hit with one of Cintron knock out punches, it could be over because of his weak chin. Cotto could wear Cintron down but would have to protect his chin doing it. Margo got hit with some big shots but was able to take them and keep comming. Margo is one of the toughest guy's in the Welter. Cintron would be a better fighter, if he could box. Cotto is trying to box more because being a pressure fight, works if the guy's cant deal with it. Cotto ran into a guy, that could take his pressure, punches and give it back. Cotto said it himself, "I learn alot from the Mosley fight and is on a different level now". That change the way Cotto is going to fight now. Will he stick to the plan? That's the question. I will be looking at what Cotto brings to the Margo fight. How he wins or lose, is what Im looking at. If he wins or lose a close dicision by boxing, he dangerous. If he lose by getting knock out or gassing out wile brawling, that can expose him.

The only guy that can beat Miguel Cotto just retired & that's Floyd Mayweather Jr.  Cintron has no heart Margaritto owned him twice.  Maybe Paul Williams or a rematch with Shane Mosley.
