  1. Leonidas was The king of Sparta an actual historical figure, whos spartans were the product a a warrior cult, but who strength in battle depended on the Phalanx. In single combat , the spartan shield  would be cumbersome and tactics of litltle use. Spartan amror and weapons would be slightly better.

Achilles may have been another real person once, but is hopelessly mixed with mythology now. Him and his myrimidons were a force to be feared and likely th emost powerful unit at the Battle of Troy. Said to be largely invulnerable, in single combat achilles would be favored.

    fact or fiction?

  2. In a fair fight - it's a tough call... Leonidas did have a great track record and he was a Spartan, raised to kill men, while Achillies was known as a great fighter - particularly being trained by Chiron himself - who helped to train other famous heros.  However, assuming that you are going to go with the whole 1st century C.E. thing with his heel being the only weak point...  I think that unless Leonidas had a pointer to aim there, he more than likely would have lost due to just getting worn down beating on Achillies... while Achillies would simply take the blows, perhaps try to land a few, and wait for Leonidas to tire, and then strike.  Either way, it would be an absolutely amazing fight.

  3. Probably Achilles.

Leonidas was a warrior-king. He had armies to fight alongside of (if the movie portrayed it as accurately as historically possible).

Achilles was one soldier within the army. He was famed to be the best individual soldier. He even bested the equally-famed Hector.

  4. Even though I don't like Achilles, he'd win anyway...

  5. As much as I would like Leonidas to win, Achillies was a beast...  So, Achillies would win.

  6. I'd have to say achilles, unless leonidas got him in the heel. Fair to say that nightshade would beat the tar outta both of em.
