  1. Federer. Connors got down on himself sometimes, and Federer is too mentally tough.

  2. I would choose Roger Federer over Jimmy Connors as the tennis nowadays were way harder compared to few years ago..

  3. When would this imaginary match be played?   If it was in the 60's, and Federer lived then, I assume Connors would win.   (Federer probably has never played with equipment of that time, though, and would be astounded by Connors' sheer power  -  for that time).

So much has changed since the days of, e.g., Connors, that this most interesting question is very hard to answer.  However, Connors only 'dominated' Men's Tennis for a year or two, from memory.    Federer seems far more in command than Connors ever did in his time!

I suspect that Federer is a far more accomplished player than was Connors, who seemed to be a stand-out merely because his style of play was 'new' to his competitors.  However, I can't hazard an intelligent guess, as I don't know all of the perameters involved in this fascinating match-up.

(I suspect that Federer would win quite comfortably, though.   I saw Connors play often)
