  1. Mac Foster (like his contemporary, Al "Blue" Lewis) was down-and-dirty, and very much in-your-face.  The styles of his opponents didn't really concern him. . . .he took out guys right and left until Clay got to him.  

    But Ron Lyle, in his prime, was something special.  The fight between him and young George Foreman was one for the ages.  Back and forth. . . . taking flush shots from George.  And still standing. . . .only at the very end did George put the finishing touches on Lyle and get him out of there. . . and we're talking about FOREMAN, one of the hardest punchers of all time!!!

    Lyle by late-round stoppage in a fight to rival Holyfield-Bowe One.


  2. I believe that Mac Foster had more skill and was even in the power department.  Mac Foster by close decision.

  3. I don't usually disagree with toughguy but Foster lost to Bugner and that fight alone makes me not able to give this one to Foster.  It would be a close fight, I agree, but I have Lyle taking the decision.
