  1. It seems like everyone has already penciled in the Angels v. Red Sox matchup.  :O

Lackey v. Beckett-I think Lackey wins this.  Although he havent been teh same Lackey for quite some time now, Beckett if he does play will play with a sore elbow.

Lester v. Saunders- Idk, Im leaning towards Lester.  Saunders have been going down hill down the stretch here.

Dice-K and Santana-I think this is an interesting matchup.  This is the only matchup in my mind where I think a pitching duel could occur.  Il go with Dice-K

Wakefield and Weaver-Toss up.  Niether pitchers having fantastic season.  If I had to choose, Ill take Wakefield.

So pretty much that would win the series for Boston 3-1 if they met.

  2. All of these obviously depend on run support. I'm a little biased because I'm a Red Sox fan, but these are my honest opinions.

Beckett could win while he is healthy, although Lackey almost threw a no-hitter against the Sox at Fenway he was previously very shaky while pitching at Fenway so it might depend on where they play. Because of Beckett's playoff dominance I'm gonna say Beckett.

I think Lester would win hands down. He has been lights out for the most part, and despite having an inferior record to Dice-K, I believe Lester is the ace of the Red Sox right now.

Dice-K has a knack for getting out of sticky situations, and so far this season he has been pretty spectacular. Although he issues too many walks, I still believe Dice-K beats Santana.

Wakefield and Weaver is a tricky match-up. Wakefield has pitched well all year but hasn't received adequate run support. Weaver has pitched ok throughout the season. With Wakefield's knuckleball, you don't know how he will pitch until he goes out and throws a couple of innings. It all depends on how he is releasing it and the weather affecting the flight path of the ball.

  3. Beckett, Lester, Dice-K, and Wakefield.  Red Sox Sweep!  :)
