Who would win in a Russia-Israel war?

Supposing Israel is Georgia, in a conventional war (please don't include in the discussion the silly nuclear angle -- im tire of hearing that) who would win? Israel has a very powerful airforce--some say the 2nd or 3rd best in the world after US and UK with very good pilots; Russia also has a powerful inventory of fighter aircraft, long-range bombers. Russia has a powerful navy--but not as good as US, UK or France; both have vaunted battle tanks; both have disciplined infantry with special forces; both boost an array of missile inventory; both have an intelligence network that is very good. And most of all both Russia and Israel love guns to do the talking.

I don't really know how Israel "wins" this war.

They might be able to fend off a Russian invasion but how do they defeat Russia?

If everyone stayed out of it, I think Russia would due to resources, manpower, economy and so forth.

russia, but israel would take a big toll on russia. israel has a population of 7 million... russia 150 million. israel would be subdoed because of russias man power, but israel would give them a good run for their money

Russia. Isreal man-for-man would be able competitive with anyone. Russia however has too many resources and sheer numbers, it would be a rout.

If you take out the nukes then Russia wins if they go all out. They are just so much bigger. But Isreal gets 5 billion+ a year in weapon grants from the USA and their military forces are amoung the most experienced in the world. So any sort of conventional war against their military would be costly, so it's unlikely Russia would go all out against Israel.

Israel and Russia are both weak diplomatically, so any conflict between them would be won there. Russia would have to try to pressure the USA allies to pressure the USA to loosen ties with Israel to win. Israel would have to convince the world to isolate Russia to win.

I can't really see any way for Israel to "beat" Russia, but they could most likely hold off an invasion, Russia doesn't have the numbers + equipment in their military anymore. Israel would probably repel any Russian invasion.

Russia pawns they butts. They defeat any western countries (excluded U.S because digital warfare technology) at 1vs1 combat.

But truth is both sides lost to many people,that's why both side will loose at the bottom line. Because no one can't effort that much casualties easily.

Isreal.......because no one aside from Iran would help Russia because no one really like Russia out of China and Iran but China would stay out of it their not stupid and well iran is IRan their weak......most of the Russian military are poorly trained reserve divisions I( mean look at the invasion of Georgia most of the Russian troops wern't even in uniform.....also this isn't the cold war the KGB can't comne close to mesuring up to the mossade......

That would depend on whoever develops the better strategy.   Russia may have numbers, but they are not really well trained troops according to many military analysts.

Israel is the only Western country that accepted non-visa travelling with Russia. While Condi was spreading Georgian lies, Israel immediately after the conflict started, stopped providing weapons to Georgia.

America would.

Let's face it, if anyone messes with Isreal we have declared time and time again that we would defend them no matter what.  Is this smart? who knows.  By saying this we would be drawn into the war.

Russia is a giant of a nation with lots of resources, but saying that America is the last true SUPER POWER left.  Even though many contries out there aren't really friendly with us right now, we still would have a chance to bring them to our side.  It actually would come down to side would have the stomache to endure a long and brutal war with lots of loses.  That country would win.

OK, so if only those 2 nations were to battle and everyone else would stay out.  Russia no question.  Yeah, so Isreal has the more powerful armed forces....but Russia dominates on shear size.  They would be able to put MILLIONS of troops into this war.  Technology would help Islreal put up a fight but it still couldn't hold out for too long against a Russian all out attack.

In your question, you stated that you did not want to have nuclear weapons talk included, but went on to talk about missile inventories.  Most intercontinental ballistic missiles have nuclear warheads, or they would be relatively useless and too expensive to use tactically.  Nobody wins a war.  All sides lose.

Israel would beat russia,

Israeli airforce could easily take off and strike Russia, they can easily drop troops into Russia and take the fight to them...

they can just pay all the Russian generals and make them drop their arms and switch sides (like the Americans done in Iraq)

they can just pay all the russian soldiers to be male escorts in israel!

russia have a very huge defensive advantage that is not available to israel.  they only need to hold against an israeli invasion until winter comes and the freezing temperatures will do the rest. the same thing happened with the germans in WW2

ive heard countless times about the lack of discipline in the Russian forces, that coupled with their shoddy equipment and a U.S. backed Israel  I think israel would win.people give russia too much credit, the fall of the Soviet Union really damaged their military.
