  1. ancient greek boxer if  totally preserved for centuries wouldn't be able to match a skill and technique of a young modern boxer! get it?

  2. I don't think anyone will know for sure.

My opinion is that the sport evolved for a reason. People, through trial and error, learned the techniques that worked best.

Modern boxers would have a technical advantage.

    Conditioning is another story.

Boxers back then didn't have television or the internet, so they spent more time exercising and being active, and less time on their ***.

They were probably 'stronger' and in better fighting condition.

So all in all, if the modern boxer in question was truly a master at his craft, with all of the modern rules, I suppose he would win.

If the modern boxer lacked defensive skills, I wouldn't give him much of a chance.

  3. Depends on the rules they'll be using. Ancient rules, the Greek boxer would win because it would be a barbaric style fight fit for MMA while under morden rules the morden boxer would win as the rules would be a leveler. If we had to find something between and say, no grabbing, weight limits, no points scoring system, fight till you win or both men drop, use of gloves, use of a referee, and say 5 minute rounds. Jake LaMatta, young Mike Tyson, Jack Dempsey and Johnson would have done well but all other morden boxers would have struggled cause they don't have enough power to ware their man down and none would certainly have the endurance to go man on man with an ancient boxer. So under customised rules, the Ancient boxer wins.

  4. Today's boxers, they have better techniques and are stronger!

  5. technique, strength, endurance, science, and human evolution all point to a modern fighter demolishing an ancient greek fighter.

more to the point, a 2nd tier boxer from today would beat any boxer of the 30's in the same weight class.  That is how much the sport has evolved in the past 70 years.

  6. Ancient Greek, since all the techniques we use today were also used back then. Some moves that they used in Ancient Greek are now illegal today so they would have the advantage. Plus their fights are really brutal so they can really take a hit. But hey you never know, anything can happen in the ring.
