  1. Perhaps Im biased as Gorillas are more closely related to my species than Bears, but I like the silverback by decision.  As the fight goes into the late rounds, the Gorilla's endurance will the be key.  Bears are natural wrestlers, but the superiour footwork of the Gorilla will keep the primate safe until the later rounds.

  2. i think its 50 /50

  3. silverback

  4. I'll say the black bear. His claws are just too deadly.

  5. a silverback wins against any bear short of a polar bear just due to size and strength.  I think a polar bear because of its immense size and strength would be a good match though

    Additional info

SCOTT-- just to let you know, an elephant is a much stronger land animal then a bear and are probally the strongest land animal.

  6. seeing black bears are rather a smaller bear species a silver back  would have it for dinner,a grizzly or polar bear would have a better chance!!

  7. h**l who knows it would be a good fight

  8. A Grizzly bear would have been a better fight.  Silverback gorilla beats the black bear with a powerful blow to the back of his neck.

  9. The bear is probably the most powerful of all land animals. The gorilla has large canine teeth, but these are used primarily to strip vegetation, not to fight.  The bear has big canines and long claws, and it is MUCH more powerful than a gorilla. A black bear versus a gorilla would be like Liston versus Patterson with Floyd having one hand tied behind his back.  If, as has been reported several times, leopards weighing less than 150 pounds have killed silverbacks weighing more than twice as much, a gorilla would be totally outmatched by a bear.

When we get to the really big bears, like Kodiak browns weighing upwards of 1,500 pounds and polar bears weighing close to 2,000 pounds, the “best” match-up would be the bear versus an Indian elephant.  The elephant’s only hope would be to get its large tusks involved (if it has large tusks).  Failing that, I would bet on the bear – IF the two could be induced to fight each other.

I have been studying wild animals all my life.  From what I have seen and read, the only time a bear gets into a real fight and comes out second best is when it fights another bear.  There are, of course, all kinds of reports out there, but (if we exclude very young bears) the record indicates that nothing beats a bear.  And that includes a sloth bear that weighed less than 150 pounds mauling a tiger that weighed at least 350 pounds.

Bears don’t even have to worry about the pound-for-pound comparisons.  A 400 pound bear is probably more than a match for any animal that might decide to attack it.

  10. What kind of gloves would the be wearing?  Reyes or Everlast?

  11. Black Bear all the way

  12. gorilla is a smarter animal, knows that he should stay away from claws and teeth. but bear is taller when standing has strong strike and bit force so i cnt really tell

  13. Silverback Gorilla wins 2 out of 3 in one of the greatest trilogy's of all time

  14. the gorrilla would have to win the early rounds and go for the body...the bear has to go for the ko...

  15. My money is on the one with thumbs.  Gorilla all the way.  Now a GRIZZLY BEAR. . . maybe more even. . .but in this world. . .. thumbs make the man!
