  1. Naturally, if you play in a biased (i.e., longer) course the guys would win.

Now let's even the field.... who'd win?  Given that most PGA players want uniform rough (preferably 3 inches or so, for the Bomb & Gouge way most of them like to play), their bunkers nice and fluffy to make sand saves easier, and greens that roll less than or equal to an 11 on the Stimpmeter (cause they hate the slippery US Open-like greens) they would have a hard time winning, much less dominating, an event where those things are taken away.  If anything, it could be a draw at best.

I know it's hard to believe, but not every guy on any tour can drive it 300 yds, and there are ladies on the LPGA that can come close to it (as an average- Brittany Lincicome drove one 327 at a tourney two years ago).

With the ability to work shots fading away on the men's tours, thanks to the Bomb & Gouge method, a lady that has decent length and knows all the shots would be a match for any guy.  It's out-right egotistical and disrespectful to think that any guy could beat a girl just cause she's a girl.

  2. Depends on which LPGA player and which Nationwide player chosen. Each needs to master their own  tour and leave the speculation to the fans.

  3. Nationwide Tour would win obviously, they are better

  4. It completely depends on the course.  If it was played on an LPGA course, the LPGA would have a chance.

Nationwide tour players, however, are used to courses that are significantly harder than the LPGA courses, and they can be hundreds of yards longer.  It would be no contest on some of the lengthy courses that the men play.

Googie, one of the later posters, brings up a good point.  However, he also proves mine.  The LPGA is capable of winning when they play a shorter (easier) layout than the men.  If they had to play the same length, the would probably not fare as well.

  5. Nationwide players would absolutely dominate overall. No contest and not even close!  The falloff in talent from the PGA tour to Nationwide tour is not that great.

  6. There have been " funny season tournaments"  where three golfers from the PGA, the Senior tour( pardon me!!) Champions tour and the LPGA have played against one another. The PGA played the longest tees, the Champs played the whites and the LPGA played the regular ladies tees. Who won six out of the ten played??? The LPGA !!! So those who are hasty with their answers had better read the history.

  7. Any professional man would demolish any professional woman 99.9% of the time.  Silly question.

  8. I'd take the NAtionwide tour player over any LPGA player in a match play situation...it's been proven that the ladies just don't match up with the men at all...notice that when a woman trie to play in a men's event, the big talk is always about whether she'll make the cut...not does she have any chance of winning...let the ladies stick to playing vs. ladies...make it a fair fight...
