  1. BJ would crush Hughes. Bj has better ground game than Hughes and he proved that in his last match against Jens P. Not to mention his new training camp in Hawaii, hes actually taking his training more seriously not just relaying on his natural talent. I personally think that the match would not last so much standing, however BJ has knocked out opponents in the early stages of his career. We all remember his match against the Japanese fighter that only lasted seconds. Hughes has been called the best welterweight ever before, but I think his reign has come to its end. He did lose against GSP and he lost bad too. Since GSP, Hughes has just not been the same fighter.

  2. I always hope for Hughes, but if Penn shows the same game against Hughes that he showed against Sherk, than it looks bad for Hughes.

Matt Hughes is one of the best welterweights that has ever been with a record of 43-6, in a really talent deep class, but striking has always been an area of contention for him, Penn has a good stand up game.

In spite of all the religious c**p, I can't help but admire the warrior that is Matt Hughes, the great wrestler, the man who really enhanced ground and pound and a really decent guy.

  3. thats easy peen hughes is really is just a wrestler and nothing else. and we found out wat penn can do to wrestlers

  4. Honestly? Probably Penn.

Unfortunately, since Hughes isn't the belt holder anymore, Penn would probably not train as hard as he would have to, so it's a tough call.

  5. Hughes is done Penn all the way

  6. I think Matt Hughes is showing signs of slowing down. He just didn't look the same vs GSP and I think Hughes only won the last fight because BJ got hurt

  7. hughes its been proven ha ha

  8. Penn, Hughes is almost done in the sport.

  9. penn he has the momentum while his confindence is also higher he will fiercer when the time comes

  10. hughes already won a rematch, bitchslapping BJ back to the lightweight division where he belongs. You just can't mess with Hughes.

i still wanna see hughes vs. serra b4 hughes hangs up mma.

only then will he deserve the title as being the greatest welterweight of all time.
