If you have a heart flush on the table highest card a jack of heart and lowest card a 2 of hearts. I’m holding a four of hearts and my opponent is holding no hearts (other than the ones on the table) who is the winner?. I think its a split pot. However with all the alcohol that was flowing last night there were some serious debates about this. We were playing Texas hold em (five card)

  1. I think you're the winner because you have the higher heart card.  If you take each players top 5 heart cards, you'll end up with the higher heart card once you eliminate the shared heart cards one by one.  His lowest heart card is a 2, while your lowest heart card will be either a 3 or 4.  Three or four beats a 2.

If he says you're the winner, why argue.

  2. that is just one ******* question, my answer is yes!!!!!!!!!!

  3. You would be the winner...your hand is made up of five cards, taking the best of what's on the table and the two cards in your hand.  So your friend had a flush, but your flush had a higher card and beat his.

If neither of you had been holding any hearts, you would have split the pot...it wouldn't have been an issue of who had the high card because you can only have five cards in a hand.
