  1. You need to call a plumber to come out and check the existing lines and reconnect the gas.  You need to call the gas company to turn the gas service back on and establish an account.

  2. I would call the gas company and ask who’s authorized to do it. They might have to, you may be required to call a professional, or in some areas you may be allowed to do the work yourself.

In fact, you might be able to log onto the local gas company’s website and find an answer to this question.

  3. 1) make sure your gas meter is "on" by calling the gas company

    2) whoever installs your appliances will uncap the line and connect the fixture for an additional fee.

if you already have your fixtures, you will need to call a plumber

  4. You need to get the lines checked for leaks (Plumber) and then call the gas company. They will install the meter and check all the service lines for leaks before turning the gas back on.

  5. Plumber!

  6. The gas department is responsible for the piping up to the meter, or manifold if you don't have the meter hung yet. You or your contractor is responsible for the gas piping in the house. When the meter is hung, the gas department will test your lines to make sure there is no movement of the meter dials, indicating you have no leaks. Hope this helps.
