By giant killer I mean players who often can beat or trouble top seeds but lack the consistancy to get within the top ten or far into a tournament.

For this reason please name players outside of the top ten only.

I'm thinking maybe Youzhny and Tipsaravic, but I am sure there are better suggestions out there!

  1. Ivo Karlovic- Beat Federer.

    Karlovic's advantages:

    Serve very well

    Karlovic's dis-advantages:

Makes too many errors and cannot rally.

    Gilles Simon:

    Simon's advantages:

    Can run pretty fast

    Simon's dis-advantages:

    Weak second serve

  2. Ivo Karlovic is definitely one. Everyone knows how powerful his serve is such a big weapon, if Ivo could learn to adapt his game adding more variety he`d be pretty much unstoppable, good forehand, backhand, passing shots, his net play is pretty decent but he lacks consistency with all aspects of his game except ofcourse with that serve of his.

I agree when you say Youzhny he is a very dangerous play but again lacks consistency. Im gonna go with Tsonga aswell, the guy is a pretty amazing player he can beat any top player on a given day thats for sure, but unfortunantely injury has stopped him from progressing with his career just now. Also i dont think he would be able to keep a high level of tennis in every tournament.....

At the end of the day consistency is what serperates the best players with the ``good`` players. To maintain a high level of tennis for years like Rafa and Roger is amazing thats why there a class ahead of everyone else.

  3. Tipsarevic is definitely up there. Karlovic with his mega serve too can catch someone on a slightly off day.

    I'd say Tipsarevic.

  4. marin cilic: beat roddick n toronto, gonzalez  in australia who was defending runner up,

tipseravic: roddick in wimbledon, blake in hamburg,

del-potro: roddick in la, gasquet in stuttgart

kohlschreiber: roddick in australia, blake in halle

gulbis: blake in cincinatti and in rolland garros, moya in barcelona(he was top 15 at the time)

  5. Igor Andreev, Robin Soderling, Ernests Gulbis,Eduardo Schwank, and Thomaz Bellucci can become your nightmare.

  6. Ivo Karlovic- he beat federer

john isner- he did well at legg mason classic last year falling to roddick in the final

    Tipsaravic

    Ernests Gulbis

    Tsonga

  7. tipsarevic, karlovic, tsonga and don't forget nalbandian who could beat the top 3 in last year's master series in paris and madrid and he's been always a trouble for federer, he beated him in the 2005 tenis master cup

so i guess he's the giant killer you're looking for

yeah, but he's a top 10 because of that couple of masters he won 'cause he hasn't done anything this year, agree?
