I have been seen by three different doctors in the past year for a wrist injury. Still no cure or even answers. having monthly doc visits and still no help yet they keep getting payed by works comp. and keep having me return. I know they or just cashing the checks with no help to me.

I have contacted comp and they say find anotherr doctor and it starts all over againn. I loose money from being off from work to go to appointments and many sleepless nights with pain for the past year.

Who do you contact to help investigate the practices of both parties, beside a layer, cause my issue don't pay out enough for a layer to be interested...Yet tax money and workers comp money is being wasted at alarming rates and that'ss just with my issue. there must be some one who is concerned with these issues if reported. But who?

  1. you could try one of those ''no win,no fee'' companys on the tv...but normmaly they not give a toss if they think they wont win,/nowt in it for them...

  2. Just because they are unable to find what is wrong with your wrist doesn't mean they aren't doing their job.  I'm sure they aren't saying, "hey, thanks for coming in.  Let me look at you wrist with my eyes.  Wow, I don't know what this is.  Come back in a week so I can look again."  I'm sure you have done testings, they've given you things to try to help fix it, etc. You need to go back to find out if those things are working.  If they aren't, you are sent for something else.

As much as we like to think, doctors don't know everything.  There are still  things in the human body that no one fully understands.  All doctors can do is use the tools they have and try to come up with a diagnosis.  Sometimes it's not easy.  If you are unhappy with your doctor, you need to find a new one.  You can't sue a doctor unless they have knowingly done something to harm you in some way.  You taking time off of work doesn't count.  It would also be nearly impossible to prove that they did nothing.  They aren't paid that much through workman's comp either.  Usually they negotiate a lower price (like medicare and social security) so it would be better for them to just take a normal patient over you.

  3. Is there a WCB clinic in your area that could assess you. Maybe you can return to work through a modified work program where you return to work but modify your workday with meaningful work. i have had a few employees come to work with injuries, some on the job injuries other off the job. I do a phyisical demands annalysis along with a job description for the doctor to review. The doctor gives recommendations on the workers limitations which then we can plann for work for the employee. WCB saves money and so do we. i have a worker who is out no money and happy to be still considered a part of the team. They recover quicker and those who can not retun to work in their old position quickly find work in our organization.
