I was estatic when I seen him lay Quitana out in the first round. I was worried that maybe he was too weak of a puncher to be a top contender. Not anymore. He manhandled an opponent who took him to the cards and opened both of his eyes. Great rematch. I thought the first fight was going to go the same way.

  1. Has to be the loser of the Cotto-Margarito fight, the winner will be looking for Oscar.  If Williams can win a fight in between against a Cintron, Clottey, Mosely, Judah or some other name fighter he can line up a fight with the loser pretty easily because it will give Cotto/Margarito the chance to bounce right back.

Margarito will want it anyway to avenge the loss, plus even if he beats Cotto, I don't really think thats a fight Oscar wants based on Margarito's strengths.

The problem is that I really don't see any fighter that doesn't have to wanting any part of Williams, he's freakishly tall, throws a ton of punches, and (other than the hiccup in the first Quintana fight) looks to be getting better as he goes along.

  2. I'd like to see Williams fight "Kermit Cintron" next.  This has the potential to be a very good fight.  Kermit hasn't looked good lately and he needs a big fight to get him back on track.

These two guys were supposed to fight, but Kermit's hand injury... then money and boxing politics got in the way.

Not too many people are going to line up to fight Paul after his great showing against Quintana... but I think Cintron should step-up and take on this fight. Cintron vs. Williams would be an action packed fight.

If Williams beats him, he proves to everyone that he's the REAL deal... and this would set Williams up for some BIG paydays.

As for Cintron, he desperately needs to prove himself, and if he happens to win, he's back in the welterweight picture... and a Champion again.

Both could benefit greatly by fighting eachother.

    I hope they'll fight soon.

  3. I feel a bit diffrent then you do im a lilttle disappointed the fight finished so quick because the first minute and a half it looked like Quintana would take care of it like he did in the first match and i would of liked to see how Williams would of handled that through out the fight.

As far as Williams next oppenents i think theres a variety of good options i would like to see him fight Joshua Clottey Kermit Cintron, Andre Berto i also wouldnt be opposed to a Quintana-Williams Trilogy. I personally like seeing proof of who's the better fighter when two boxers split there two fights.

  4. I would love to see Williams try to unify the division, starting with fighting the winner of the Cotto-Maragrito match. I think Williams and Cotto would be interesting. In a case it maybe Williams and Margarito again, it would be a great opportunity for Margarito to show us if his defeat to Williams was a fluke or that Williams simply has his number.
