id take russell he played in 13 seasons and won 11 titles but then again chamberlain scored 100 points in a game before the 3 point line and the only player to score near tht was kobe and most of his was from the 3

Defense wins 11 championships. Bill Russell all the way. And just to mention, Russell's offensive game wasn't that bad. He knew how to score some points.

WILT was the best big man of their era.he played better then russell when they played each other Wilt averaged 28.7 points and 28.7 rebounds,russell averaged  Russell averaged 14.5 points and 23.7 rebounds.

Bill Russell dominated with rings to prove his dominance - 11 rings in 13 years, not winning 2 because of injuries.

Wilt has only padded up his stats because he was half a foot taller than the tallest player in most teams, not to mention he was a ballhog. Wilt and Philadelphia only beat the Celtics that one time because Bill Russell played on a limp.  He was injured.  The second and final time Wilt got a ring Bill Russell was his private coach... ROFL!  Bill Russell actually had to teach Wilt defense (now that there are players taller) and team work...

Wilt Chamberlain is OVERRATED.  Not that he's not one of the greatest players ever (top 6), but if there are boozos ranking him ahead of Bill Russell, Wilt is OVERRATED.
