Who would you say is a good replacement for Edwin Van der sar?

He has said his time is nearly over at Manchester United and his career which does surprise me greatly as goalkeepers can last to at least over forty.Who would you say is an ideal replacement? I can't speak for other leagues but from the Premiership then the best i can think of is David James.

well foster and kuszczak have been impressive...and it's unlikely that Utd would buy another GK.all the more we have tom heaton also, who is on loan with cardiff city.

it would be a tough decision for SAF to make though he prefers foster over kuszczak!

so my choice would be Foster as the No 1 when VDS hangs his gloves.

United have his replacement at the club now, Ben Foster is a superb keeper and would fill Van Der Saar's gloves no problem, he must get his chance soon.

Its has to be Foster he is quality, the only reason he didn't play more games last season when VDS was injured was because he wasn't registered to play in the CL so Sir Alex thought it would make more sense giving Kuszczak the games just in case we needed him for the CL.

I don't think there is any doubt that Sir Alex wants Foster to be his number 1 you can tell by the way he is always banging on about him and how he will be England's number 1!

David James is good but his career will probably be ovr in a few seasons. Ben Foster would be very good for United if called upon, but if tehy didn't think he was good enough to be No.1 Manuel Neuer, currently playing for Schalke, would be a good signing IMO. He's only about 20 and already firmly established as No.1 there, probably breaking into the international scene soon as well

ben foster is a decent keeper but is too young at the moment so i would say victor valdes barca he ay bad only let in 33 goals in 38 games last season
