  1. For now I will go with Jeff Gordon but Dale Jr is a great driver and who knows what the future holds.

  2. Come on - Jeff Gordon. Why is it that everyone thinks that Jr is so talented. What is your proof? He could be dead last or towards the front (doesn't seem to be in 1st ever) and everyone thinks he is the champion. I have to know why.

  3. In my opinion Jeff Gordon is probably going to be known as the best Nascar driver ever. Jeff has way more talent that Dale Jr.

  4. i'm with Johnny's Mommy....i will deny every saying that jeffie is more talented than anyone, but sadly the proof is in the championships and wins...

  5. Out of those 2 has beens? Sorry I have to go with Joey LoganO the future of racing.

  6. Judging one's talent level is very difficult. It is hard to quantify that which cannot be seen, felt, heard, or tasted.

Also having talent is one thing, but having the smarts, and ability to use it, is another.

They both have the ability, a good one at that, to drive race cars. If you want to call that talent, fine. I won't argue with you.

Success is probably the word we can use to help see who indeed has the ability, and the smarts to use their talents to the best potential.

Gordon has raced in more different series than Junior has, has won in many if not all levels he has raced in, and has a NASCAR championship or two, or three.... to boot. By those comparisons, Gordon is the more talented driver.

However, I wouldn't give you a plug nickel for the man! This story always ends the same, with Gordon sharing the same fate that awaits Mike Wallace should he ever cross paths with Warren..... in the wall!

I personally like Junior as a race car driver. I cannot explain it, but I just do. I was a big fan of his Father's, too. I have a lot of respect for most of the drivers on the NASCAR circuit, as well. Mark Martin being close to the top, as well as a host of others. I just can't let myself root for Gordon, and cheer wildly when he has an off day.

But, that is just my opinion. That's what makes this sport so attractive to me, among other things as well.

    GO FAST, TURN LEFT!

    GO JUNIOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Here's an idea ask Jr this question, he'd more than likely say Gordon. One of the things Jr said he was excited about when he was moving over to HMS was learning from Jeff Gordon.

  8. Jeff Gordon is the more talented driver and all you have to do is look at the stats to prove it:

Jeff Gordon in 523 career starts, over 17 seasons, has:

         championships - 4

         wins - 81 (15.5% of races)

         poles - 72 (18.8% of races)

         top 5 - 240 (45.9% of races)

         top 10 - 324 (61.9% of races)

         DNF - 77 (14.7% of races)

         average finish - 13.4

         average start - 10.4

Dale Earnhardt Jr in 305 career starts, over 10 seasons, has:

         championships - 0

         wins - 17 (5.6% of races)

         poles - 8 (2.6% of races)

         top 5 - 82 (26.9% of races)

         top 10 - 131 (42.9% of races)

         DNF - 41 (13.4% of races)

         average finish - 16.3

         average start - 15.1

Jeff Gordon is better then Dale Earnhardt Jr. in every catergory except for DNF's over the course of a career.  To me that gives it to Jeff Gordon, by a long shot.

  9. jeff gordon sux!!!! WEEEEW GO JR!!!!

           88ferlife!!!

  10. Let me preface this by saying I'm not a fan of either of them. Let's look at racing first. Gordon has more wins, poles, top 5's, top 10's, championships, and way more money earned in his career from racing. In one of his worst years in racing (this current one) he is as much in contention for a championship as Junior is in his best year. He does more with lesser cars.

He owns the car of another multi-time champion.

He has got to be at least moderately talented in "other" things because he landed a supermodel wife, and has procreated with her. Love him or hate him, he is well respected in the sport. I'd have to say Gordon is more talented the Junior.

  11. Jeff Gordon is not only more talented, but is one of the all time greats as well. Overall he is probably the best active Cup driver as far as his entire career goes, but he's been kind of wishy washy the past couple of seasons.

  12. talented means go to the stats and on that alone one must say Gordon, God help me

  13. J   E   F   F      G   O   R   D   O   N

They are both past their prime though, but Jeff's worst years are comparable to Dales best

  14. Jeff Gordon hands down!

  15. I think the stats speak for themselves!

  16. Jeff Gordon because of his history in racing. JR is also talented, I know alot of people don't like JR cause they think he should be like his dad. Well give the boy a chance, he has done pretty good for himself.

But to the Joey lagano 1st fan, Dude get a life. We all know you are Joey Lagano and that don't count as 1st fan. Just another young punk who hasn't earned his keep yet. Give it time and talent will tell all.

  17. Jeff would be in a lot of respects. He went into business with Sr. making hats and collectibles ( remember the No "Goober Hat Commercial")? They made a lot of money together and ultimately helped with the seed money for DEI and the 48 team respectively.

  18. Jeffy Gordon!!!

  19. Jeff Gordon - more wins and championships.

  20. Jeff gordan

    HANDS DOWN

  21. Even I...the PRESIDENT OF JR NATION...can admit that Gordon is (was) more talented.  The stats speak for themselves.  You can't compare the two in my opinion...really there's only a couple guys you can fairly compare to Gordon, and none of them race anymore.  As much as I dislike Gordon, that doesn't change his dominance of the 90's.

Still a Jr fan...always will be.

  22. OMG, I can't believe I'm saying this.

    Gordon.

You ever tell anyone I said that and I will call you a liar.  LOL

  23. There is absolutely no comparison Gordon hands down  81 wins 4 championships How can you even put them in the same category Gordon is top 10 all time
