Who writes contemporary Tragedy?

I just need some authors to research.

Preferably writes Short Stories.

Tragedy in the Aristotelian sense. Not just sad stories.

I think some of Cormac McCarthy's novels could be considered modern tragedies, especially "No Country for Old Men."

Phillip Roth's work also, particularly "American Pastoral."
