  1. Best Man and sometimes the Father of the Bride if the brides parents are paying for the wedding traditionally make toasts or a short speech.

Recently there has been a trend of the Best Man and Maid of Honor both doing a speech.  It is not necessary for all the attendants to do a speech it will take too long and most people do not necessarily want to make a speech or toast in front of everyone.

So it's your wedding you can do what you want, but keep in mind time constraints and peoples feelings.

  2. It is your wedding so you can do whatever you want. Most times however the speeches are done by the maid of honor, and the best man. Often then parents will say a few words as well! One things I can tell you is be careful about too many speeches... it gets long winded and people lose focus. My brother's wedding rehearsal dinner was when MOST speeches were made by friends ( while the maid of honor, best man, and parents did speeches at the wedding). Don't force anyone to make a speech.... I get soo nervous talking.. I started crying trying to do one at my brothers.....I had plenty to say but I was so emotional I could not get anything out but sobs! Hope that helps!

  3. The Bestman, Maid of Honor and Father of the bride.

  4. I think traditionally it's the bride's father and the best man. However, whoever wants to write a speech can do one. You often see both sets of parents speaking now, as well as the maid of honour. My brother's wife had 4 bride's maids and they all wanted to do a joint speech, so that was different. I"ve also seen the bride and groom do speeches quite a bit, to thank the guests and families.

My only piece of advice is to please not let (or make) EVERY person in the wedding party do a speech! As a guest, I can tell you people get really, really bored listening to so many speeches.
