i see alot of people using this quote as their own , but it must belong to a true source? I thought maybe Samuel Butler wrote it but couldn't find any proof.

  1. Several sources attribute a very similar quotation (i.e., "So many people tiptoe through life, so carefully, to arrive, safely, at death.") to Tony Campolo:

    Please see:

    "The Messenger," Vol. 43, No. 1, January 12, 2005

    NOTES:

**A description of Tony Campolo at Amazon.com reads as follows:

Founder of the Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education (EAPE), an organizations that develops schools and social programs in various third world countries and in cities across North America, Dr. Campolo is an ordained minister and is presently recognized as an associate pastor of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in West Philadelphia. He is a media commentator on religious, social and political matters, having guested on television programs like Nightline, Crossfire, Politically Incorrect, The Charlie Rose Show and CNN News. He cohosted his own television series, Hashing It Out, on the Odyssey Network, and presently hosts From Across the Pond, a weekly program on the Premier Radio Network in England. Dr. Campolo is the author of 33 books, including 'Letters to a Young Evangelical' and 'Everybody Wants to Change the World'."

**Tony Campolo did write a book titled "Carpe Diem: Seize the Day"

I hope that this helps in finding a "true source"!
