  1. "Build Me Up Buttercup" was written by Mike d'Abo and Tony Macaulay, and released by The Foundations with Colin Young singing the lead vocals in 1968.

Another little bit of trivia, Mike d'Abo is the father of Olivia d'Abo, the girl who played Karen on The Wonder Years!

  2. Oh my gosh I don't know who wrote it (well I didn't till I read the first response) but I loved that song.

It was the first record I ever bought with my own money.  I walked all the way to the Mall and back in the pouring rain just to get it : )

It was quite aways from my home.  I ended up sick as a dog with a bad cold but I had my record!

Why do you build me up, build me up buttercup baby?  Just to let me down and mess me around....but most of all, you never call baby, like you say you will, but I love you still...

Wow, can't believe I still remember some of the words.

hahaha, thanks for the blast from the past

    Mia
