  1. Several authors from many times and cultures wrote scriptures that were proven to be inspired by God. Human beings wrote the Bible in various languages in many styles using a variety of literary forms. Because human language has limitations, it is important to know what the sacred authors meant when it was written, and it does the bible violence to interpret it according to a 21st century world view.

It is equally impermissible to dismiss the story of Adam and Eve and the fall (Gen. 2–3) as a fiction. A question often raised in this context is whether the human race descended from an original pair of two human beings (a teaching known as monogenism) or a pool of early human couples (a teaching known as polygenism).

In this regard, Pope Pius XII stated: "When, however, there is question of another conjectural opinion, namely polygenism, the children of the Church by no means enjoy such liberty. For the faithful cannot embrace that opinion which maintains either that after Adam there existed on this earth true men who did not take their origin through natural generation from him as from the first parents of all, or that Adam represents a certain number of first parents. Now, it is in no way apparent how such an opinion can be reconciled that which the sources of revealed truth and the documents of the teaching authority of the Church proposed with regard to original sin which proceeds from a sin actually committed by an individual Adam in which through generation is passed onto all and is in everyone as his own" (Humani Generis 37).

The story of the creation and fall of man is a true one, even if not written entirely according to modern literary techniques. The Catechism states, "The account of the fall in Genesis 3 uses figurative language, but affirms a primeval event, a deed that took place at the beginning of the history of man. Revelation gives us the certainty of faith that the whole of human history is marked by the original fault freely committed by our first parents" (CCC 390).

  2. There is and has been no other book like it.

It is actually a collection of 66 books, written by 40 different authors from many different socio-economic backgrounds and from many locations over a period of about 1500 years. The Old Testament was written mostly in Hebrew and Aramaic. The New Testament was written in Koine Greek (common Greek was the "world dominant" language at the time thanks to the conquests and spreading of the Greek culture by Alexander the Great).

"Yet, it fits together into one cohesive story with an appropriate beginning, a logical ending, a central character, and a consistent theme." (http://www.christiananswers.net/q-aiia/b...

If you can figure out that nature does not happen without a pattern (as we can clearly see) then it must have come about by intelligent design. The only logical conclusion for me and many others is that the Bible is the only reasonable explanation for this intelligent design.

Hope this helps. It should definitely give you a different perspective than you are getting from the popular/elite media and the Hollywood-types. Think about it -- Figure it out.

  3. Its supposed to be Seraphin (angle like creatures who act as the voice of god) that dictated it to the prophets.  Some people say it was a direct voice of god and didn't go through a third channel like angels but directly to the human to the parchment.

  4. The bible is a compilation of different text put together.  The Old Testament such as the first few books Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus were written by Moses and other prophets that wrote about the life before Jesus was born.  The New Testament was written by John,Luke, Mark, Matthew and other prophets and priest from the area, however there are many other text that could have been added, who did the first compilation I am not sure.  The words written in Red in most bibles are what Jesus would have said in that instance, it is understood from the writings of the apostles of how Jesus would be, however other books such as Proverbs and Psalm were written not by a prophet but to inspire and teach the reader how to live life as Jesus would want, Psalm is written by David.  There are alot of other books that could have been added to the bible but they were lost and others burned.  Other books such as Revelations serve as a warning of the end of the earth, however some people argue about the interpretation as if it is going to be symbolic or literal, the thing is that it was written by Paul on one of his dreams that he had that told him about the end of the earth, what he may have described as a dragon may be an airplane for example.  I am a Christian and I believe in the Bible but I understand that not everything is literal. For example your question on Adam and Eve is very particular.  The Creation story is similar in all cultures about how a superior being created human, however this contradicts the theory of Evolution.   The truth is that there was no one other than "Adam and Eve" that was there watching them so that story of them may have been passed down from generation but through time may have been distorted and altered to be more chauvanistic or anti-semetic.  The topic of the Bible is very complex and cannot be throughly explained on Yahoo for further questions you may want to enroll in a theology class at your local college/university or message me.  I will be glad to give you more info.   By the way please choose my answer as the best one, I spent some time on this answer :)

  5. The bible is the inspired word of God.  It was written by men of God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.  Everything about God has to be accepted by faith.  This is no different.

The first five books of the Torah are called the five books of Moses.  The others are usually written by those whose name it bears...such as Isaiah and Jeremiah.  Soloman wrote Ecclesiastes, The Song of Soloman, and the Proverbs.  David wrote the Psalms.

The new Testament was written by Matthew Mark Luke and John...as named in the title of the book...and then Paul wrote most of the rest...

It is a collection of writings written by many men of God.  It takes faith to believe that it is the inspired word of God.

  6. A bunch of comedians.  Oh, and the guy who wrote Revelations was on acid.

  7. The prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:21

From the beginning, God has been working by His Holy Spirit through human instrumentalities for the accomplishment of His purpose in behalf of the fallen race. This was manifest in the lives of the patriarchs. To the church in the wilderness also, in the time of Moses, God gave His "good Spirit to instruct them" (Neh. 9:20). And in the days of the apostles He wrought mightily for His church through the agency of the Holy Spirit. The same power that sustained the patriarchs. . . and that made the work of the apostolic church effective, has upheld God's faithful children in every succeeding age. It was through the power of the Holy Spirit that during the Dark Ages the Waldensian Christians helped to prepare the way for the Reformation. It was the same power that made successful the efforts of the noble men and women who pioneered the way for the establishment of modern missions.

2)This is the right view of who wrote the Bible. Just let the Bible speak for itself if you really believe its true. Yes, God was watching them write to make sure that their words were divinely inspired before wicked men tried to alter His words:
