Question:

Whoa! i was looking up "Woman" by Wolfmother via Wikipedia and this caught me eye...?

I was immediately brought to "woman" (as a noun). Normally I would have just gone straight to the disambiguation list, but this caught my eye:

"A woman is a lesser sub-species of humans."

Right at the beginning of the entry; just like that. Now maybe I'm slightly delirious, or maybe I'm not interpreting that right, but it seemed fairly derogatory.

Now I know Wikipedia can be "edited by anyone", but any abuse is usually straightened out in mere minutes.

Now I want to ask you: am I completely taking it out of context, am I right in my assumptions, or am I completely delirious and I should seriously consider some shut-eye since it's 2:00am here?

  1. Nope, it's there, I just looked it up.

Some jackass with a Wiki account and nothing but time....

    So, so much time.

And "Asil"...no, dear. That's not how that works.

EDIT-I've just read more of it. Go down to the the "culture and Gender Roles" section. It's hilarious. Some fool with little more than a 9th grade education is trying to "control" information, wouldn't you say? Not only that, it would seem that perhaps one our "regulars" here is the culprit, judging from the bias and complete lack of sources, supporting data, or TRUTH. Lol, too funny.

See kids, NEVER use Wiki as a source for your school papers. You could get seriously burned. And all because some douche with a computer can't get a date.

  2. Wow.

Wikipedia is more accurate than I thought.

  3. Mcschmeezer needs to lay off whatever it is he's on.  He's got a distorted view of Christianity there.

As for your question, it's probably somebody with a bad sense of humor who did it.

This song just came up on my Ipod.  That's kind of weird.

Once again, somebody who attacks Christianity gets a few thumbs up, while the known Christian gets a thumbs down for calling them out on it.  And GWS people like to talk about tolerance and open-mindedness.  So much for that BS.

  4. No, you are not hallucinating:

    "Changes in decision making:

Women were making decisions regarding their lives, education, and career goals. Marriage was postponed and more women made time to focus on a career and an education, rather than just going to college to meet a spouse."

  5. oh wow.....

that's why i only use the internet for junk like email and yahoo answers and never for serious research

  6. Yiip, sleep.

  7. It seems completely correct to me.  Who do you think picked that dammed apple?

  8. wouldn't a man aslo be a lesser subspecies of humans?

  9. wtf go to sleep.

  10. you know what?

it's 814 here, and i'm completely fcuking pissed as well.

  11. LMAO.

  12. Since Wikipedia can be written by anyone I am sure a sexist put that there for a laugh. Don't take it too out of hand it is just some writing.

  13. The religious book of the poor sods in life who've come to imagine themselves "christians", says right in Genesis essentially that.

The men it seems to describe are the real humans (the actual species)/ while the women are kind of humanOID

    h e l p e r s   OF the people who are the actual humans.

so maybe the person was just being a good christian,

since everyone knows christ is lord, and the earth is only 5000 years old and satan made dinosaur bones to confuse us and we never landed on the moon , it was a hoax

  14. ooh whoever did that is gonna get in trouble! I read the terms and guidelines to editing certain things on wikipedia, and if you put in false information they can contact you or something like that....Anyways,NO you're not delusional LOL   probably some fat ugly woman-hater wrote that in there and thought it would be funny.
