  1. I know you hate it, but asking if you're comfortable with everything is part of the steps of service that servers are required to execute.

    It's called the "2 minute/2 bite rule"

After delivering your food, we're supposed to return within 2 minutes or 2 bites to see if you are satisfied with everything. You may want your burger cooked longer or need extra condiments. We don't do it to spite you, we do it to make sure you are satisfied with everything. Now say something is wrong and we're no where to be found, I bet you would be singing a different tune. I make it a practice to just walk slowly by your table and wait for you to stop me to let me know if you  are not completely satisfied. Please don't spite your server by taking it out on their tip when they do this. Restaurants require their servers to do this to keep you happy.

Unless you've waited tables, you'll never feel our pain.

  2. give them the thumbs up if your ok

pick up your glass if you want more to drink

or if you have to talk just hold up your "just a minute" forefinger and they usually wait for you to chew and swallow.

    LOL

  3. LMAO, I give em a thumbs up! =)

  4. I open my mouth and point to the delicious food I am chewing so he can see how much my taste buds are enjoying it. Or I raise a finger to indicate "Wait a minute", swallow, and say "Fine Thank You".

  5. its part of going out to eat deal with it. oh yeah we go to waitress school to learn that. ever see the movie Waiting? if not watch it. thats what ppl do to food like yours.

  6. Yeah but I've learned to just take smaller bites. They're easier to swallow in the event of needing to speak quickly.

  7. i try to swallow my food really fast, then respond. or i just cover my mouth with my hand and talk as cleary as i can.

  8. Well, if you're mouth is THAT full, then shut up and eat.

  9. Drives me nuts!!!  I'm in food service and I've found its the less experianced or not so good servers that do it most often.  They ask because the company wants them to. So they wait and ask when your mouth is full so they don't have to deal w/a responce.  That way if you have a complaint or you want additional service your s.o.l.

  10. If it's fine, smile and nod.  Otherwise hold up one finger, swallow quickly without choking! and tell them the problem.

If the food is cold or unacceptable, try to get the server's attention before eating.  You may have to ask another server to send yours over to your table.
