Whom should be there when adoption begans?

Hello, my big question is should I have been there when my grandmother started the paper work on the adoption. yes i was told the child would stay with me in the long run. I do every thing for her.(the child) no i was not there as a witness. My aunts were.

  6. I have an adopted child and your question makes no sense. Why do you need to be there when the paper work is started? Are you doing the adopting? Starting paper work doesn't need a witness.
