  1. Muhammad Ali.

History shows that Tyson had trouble fighting bigger heavyweights that had very good boxing skills. Add to that the superior hand/foot speed that Ali has and his long reach, Tyson would tire himself out just trying to reach Ali.  And even if Tyson manages to connect, Ali is regarded to have a very tough chin, taking shots from Norton,Shavers, Frazier, Foreman and all the heavy hitters of his time. And the most important weakness that Tyson has against Ali is that he can't bully his way into the fight, Ali has the psychological advantage and he can take the fight into Tyson's head and win anytime.  The only advantage Tyson has is punching power, all the rest of the criteria goes to the Greatest of all Time.

  2. Ali would win the fight. Ali has the intelligence of a good fighter.

  3. Muhammad Ali is the greatest fighter and he would destroy Mike Tyson.

  4. Ali would win.  His defense is too good for Tyson.  Tyson's one power punch and clinch would not work.  He would get frustrated and get knocked out.

  5. I think Ali would outbox him easily.  Remember Ali faced Foreman when Foreman was like a Tyson in that era.

  6. TYSON

  7. You insult the memory of Muhammad Ali by comparing him to Tyson, they were two different level of fighters.  Ali was superior in all respects,  maurice gets a thumbs up and Tyson gets it worse than when Holyfield cleaned his clock being compared to Ali.

  8. Ali would make Tyson quit. I don't believe he would have the heart to finish a fight with a man who would embarass and emotionally whip him round after round. Ali was past his prime when he diseccted George Foreman. A prime Ali would not of needed the rope-a-dope.  The Ali that fought Williams and Terrell would of beat Tyson without breaking a sweat.

  9. ali would frustrate and tire iron mike and stop him in 9 rounds.

  10. boxing wise, i think Muhammad Ali, because Ali is a thinker.

look what he did to george foreman.

  11. Two great fighters.

Ali was a great boxer, and Tyson a good swarmer, to use the boxing style designations.

Ali is considered among the greatest of all heavyweights, and Tyson is rated highly. Unfortunately, once the latter fired his trainer and stopped his ritual practice and sparring regime, his legacy was never fully realized.

Still, at his peak, Tyson was very dangerous. As good as Ali was, Tyson would certainly catch him with some quick jabs and hooks in a trademark ambush. In the early rounds, Tyson would score, and Ali would take some punishment.

But that would not be enough.

Not only was Ali as fast as a middleweight, but he simply had the chin of all time. He fought in an era of colossal punchers and took it all in stride. In sparring, he would allow his partners to hit without defense just to maintain that toughness. George Chuvalo is the one contemporary who might have rivaled Ali's ability to take a severe beating and stay conscious.

The young George Foreman would have demolished Tyson easily, yet Ali gave big George a boxing lesson while taking every punch Foreman could muster, and taunting him to hit harder. Frazier would also have been too tough for Tyson, and Ali beat him as well, although coming back after a layoff, it took more than one fight to accomplish.

But, if there is any doubt about Ali-Tyson, just consider Buster Douglas. Douglas was a good enough boxer to easily school Tyson. Although Tyson was not in top shape, he was still pretty much prime, yet was so thoroughly beaten by Douglas.

And Douglas was not even in the same league as Ali.

As good as Tyson was, the Douglas match is pretty solid evidence that Ali would have taken him apart. Not suddenly and dramatically like Foreman, but surgically over five to seven rounds. Tyson would hit harder, and in the beginning rounds his hand speed would impress everyone, including Ali. But Tyson would find himself facing a ring general who would take over the pace of the fight. Ali would win not just with superior speed, movement, and boxing skill. He would win the psychological battle with his usual posture of mental toughness. Foreman said that in a middle round he had hit Ali with the hardest punch he had ever mustered, yet  Ali just laughed and said "George, is that all you got?"

Tyson never had the heart to deal with that kind of opponent. His only hope would be to knock Ali out in an early round, and that simply would not happen.

Ali by TKO in five to seven rounds.

(Foreman would do it in two).

Now Fraser-Tyson, THAT would be a battle.

    Cheers!

  12. Tyson would be beaten to pulp!

    end of the story!

  13. lol you dont need no long answer for this one.... i mean ali would dodge alot of those punches but for tyson he only needed ONE !     I love Ali but tyson in his prime was crazy... lol

  14. Mike Tyson would definitely win.  Clay talked a lot of junk to mess with his opponents, but Tyson didn't have to do that, he would just punch them out.  Mike would go crazy on him.  He would probably knock his lights out and try to bite on him until someone pulled him off.

  15. Tyson is possibly the most overrated boxer in history. Anyone who thinks Tyson would stand a chance against Ali is very foolish.

  16. We all know Ali was a pure boxer and Tyson was a pure puncher. Ali is the standard by which all boxers are judged and the flip side to that is all punchers are judged by Tyson's punching power, the biggest problem with this is with the exception of Sugar Ray Robinson there was no other boxer close to being a pure boxer than Ali, meanwhile there are plenty of Heavyweight punchers that were equal if not better than Tyson in the punching department.

Every fighter after 1969 compared their boxing skills with Ali as far as speed and grace in the ring, the brawler is the last guy you wanted to be known as. Ray Leonard, Billy Costello, Floyd Mayweather, Zab Judah, Roy Jones and countless others tried to imitate Ali's style and grace some came close and there are some that are better than most but there was/is only one Ali

Jack Dempsey, Sonny Liston, Earnie Shavers, George Foreman this list goes on and on and you can compare each one of the Heavyweights to a young Mike Tyson and in some respects one of those fighters might be considered a harder puncher than Tyson.

Ali was by far the better of the two, light-years apart.

    Thanks for the question

  17. The question is would Ali retain his ears or would they be bitten off.
