Lets see, Roger Federer has won 12 Majors while Stefan Edberg has won 6.  I think Roger is better.

I think Stefan Edberg had a very strong serve and volley game dominating the net, but I am not sure if he could play that good from the baseline. Roger can play from the baseline, and can serve and volley too, so I would have to say Roger is better. If you are going by how many Grandslams they won, then Edberg has 6, but Roger has 12 Grandslams as of now and can hopefully get some more.

If fed was playing in the Sampras/Agassi/Courier/Edberg era, I don't think he'd have even half the number of grand slams he has now. So, from that perspective, I'd go with Edberg.

However going on numbers alone, federer is the obvious winner there.

lol Emme, fed played 1 match against Sampras so he played in their era, how right!. So, how many GS did Sampras win after that? 1, before that he won 13. Yea, right he was playing in their era. Roger is far better but you cannot take Stefan Edberg for granted...Edberg ranks with the great serve and volleyer Pat Rafter, and Australian Pat Cash...
