  1. yeah matt serra is short and not a bad fighter. there is also leonard garcia and roger huerta who is also a great fighter. Kevin randleman was short for a light heavy.

  2. Matt Serra is rather short, how short are you talking about?

  3. norifumi yamamoto

5'3" and fights anywhere between 135 and 155

and yes there are many vids of him on youtube

  4. Andy Hug was a very good kickboxer. He stood about 5'10, and competed in K1 where the average height of a fighter was around 6'3 or 6'4, and he was even the Grand Prix champion.

Mike Tyson was a good boxer in the heavyweight division, and used the peekaboo style to overwhelm larger opponents.

For MMA, Matt Serra comes to mind, as he is pretty short and he's done a lot in the sport. He's a natural lightweight, but he did capture the welterweight crown against GSP.

  5. Pernell Whitaker was only 5'6

    Faber is very short.

  6. Rickson Gracie was the best mixed martial arts fighter of all time. His height was billed at 5'8' to 5'9". He was a lean 185 lbs. and he bested much larger opponents. Rickson and the skill that he had in MMA matches, are the best argument for doing away with weight classes so we can see who the best mixed martial artist is. Rickson's son Kron is currently doing well in Brazilian Jujutsu tournaments, but I'm not sure if he will ever get into MMA his father did.

  7. the late grandmaster yip man was shorter than bruce lee and he taught bruce lee so of course he is good and there are very few vids of him but some can be found on you tube

  8. i think he means at open weight or heavyweight.  a midget would be a good fighter if there a 75 lb weight class.  so mentioning matt hughes, bj penn, etc. isnt any use.

mike tyson (5'9, billed as 5'11, but really 5'9), igor vovchanchyn (5'8), mark hunt (5'10, very short for a shw kickboxer since that's where height matters even more than boxing), etc.

basically, to compete @ hw, you need to be at least 5'8.

  9. Matt Hughes is 5'9 hes great

BJ Penn is 5'9 and he is even better

Matt Serra is 5'6 and hes pretty good

Bruce Lee? Tiny and very good and theres lots of videos of him...
