Fergie's not just buttering the lad up, though - he said that "World-class is a misused word but you have to consider Wayne Rooney to be one of the best players in the world." Certainly, Rooney has been United's star player this season, scoring 21 goals in the Premier League so far this season and keeping Man U's title hopes alive when some of the team's players have disappointed.
