  1. This is the one thing i hate about fans. U aren't loyal. Im not a Browns but ur QB is young and he had a great season last year. Why are u ready to run him out the door. I wish my team got him if u guys gave him up.

    Anderson is the proven QB

  2. Anderson is our quarterback, not Quinn. Quinn looked like c**p last week and Anderson looked good. Now DA has a bad game (wasnt helped by the o-line) and fairweather fans like you want him out. Anderson is our quarterback and that wont be changing this season.

  3. Anderson had a great year last year. Why fix what isn't broke?

  4. no quinn sucks anderson is by far better.

  5. I think Anderson.

  6. Brady Quinn- I know he hasn't had much NFL experience but he is much more comfortable in the pocket then DA.  He got used to having a bad O-line when he played at Notre Dame so that will help a little too!

Derek Anderson- DA had a "good" season last year, but when he played against teams that were actually good he played bellow avg.  The last few games showed his true self.

Quinn will give the Browns a better chance of winning games this season!!

  7. Anderson

  8. Just sitting here loving this debate.

  9. So far in the preseason Quinn has looked very comfortable and eased in the pocket.Where as Anderson has been rattled making imcomplete passes and wild throws. If this stays on track for the next two preseason games.Quinn will get the start.Honestly Quinn gives the Browns the best chance for a stellar season but Anderson played a h**l of a season last year to keep him in Cleveland.

  10. that's a tough question, cause Quinn doesn't have as much experience in the nfl as anderson does, but we know he is good, i say at the moment anderson may be a little better than quinn, but not by much

  11. Anderson proved himself last year

    Quinn hasnt yet

  12. derek anderson is the most overrated qb in the nfl right now. having braylon edwards makes him look like a great qb. i predict that quinn will be the starter by week 10. you heard it here first.

  13. I don't think it really matters! Neither will be able to beat the STEELERS!!!!!!!!

  14. Brady Quinn is the better of the two and it is starting to show.

Quinn is willing to sit back this year and be the backup, but I think the Browns will need to use pretty early in the season  as the starter. Anderson has not been too impressive thus far. It's early yet we'll know in a few weeks.

  15. First off, I'd like to say it's not really fair to bail on DA after last night's game. The o-line played poorly, he was facing one of the NFL's best defenses, and he was without his top receiver. I'm not making excuses or saying he doesn't deserve to be criticized, but let's not pull the plug on him totally just based on that performance.

That being said, Quinn is the better player IMO. DA only had a good season last year if you didn't watch the games, and only looked at his season stat totals. In reality, he racked up stats against the worst teams in the NFL (Miami, St Louis, and the first Cincy game), but played average or below average against most of the other teams, plus he crumbled in the most important game of his career (the second Cincy game). If you actually watched the games, you actually saw him repeating the same mistakes he's made since his days at Oregon -- horribly inaccurate with a completion percentage around  56% (if he didn't have two Pro Bowl receivers to throw to his completion percentage would've been below 50%), no touch on short throws, and a total meltdown under pressure.

The first (and only semi-legitimate) knock on Quinn right now is his lack of playing experience in the NFL. But of course you can't blame him for that, and he's done everything that's been asked of him and more when he's been on the field. He's outplayed DA in the pre-season, both last year and this year. His only NFL drive would've resulted in a touchdown had Winslow AND Edwards not both dropped passes that him them in the hands. He's shown he's strong at every aspect of the game DA struggles with (he's much more accurate, he can throw the short pass and sustain drives efficiently, and he doesn't crack under defensive pressure).

The bottom line is, Savage made a mistake not allowing an open competition for the QB position this year, and I'm NOT basing that on last night's game. DA has been no better than average as a QB and has benefited greatly from the immense talent around him. It's time to see what Quinn can do, which is exactly what will happen next week.

And the guy who said DA outperformed Quinn last week needs to remove his head from his behind. DA completed 80% of his passes (probably because they yanked him before he had a chance to look bad) and Quinn completed 76% with substantially more playing time. It's a wash at the least, but more appropriately it's an A- for Quinn (the minus is for the INT) and an "incomplete" for DA.
