when the previous stanley cup team doesn't lose any major players and signs the biggest name in free agency, I would say they're the heavy favorites

its really hard to say, id say the Habs have a great shot at it and you'll all think I'm just saying that cause I'm a Habs fan. Detroit has gotten better with Hossa, the Pens are stronger TB will be great and so will the Blackhawks. I was very upset seeing Streit gone but with Tanguay and Laraque. Tanguay very smart player and Laraque very physical and great puck handler in the offencive corners. with Carey Price starting as #1 we will find out in the first month how the Habs will do in this upcoming season. But it's a new year anything can happen.

I agree with TBL. Aside from that, it's way to early to make those predictions. We have no idea how team chemistry will change after the off-season moves. And who knows what kind of deals will be made during the season.
