My neighbor across the street got her house foreclosed, and her good friends ame over and started crying to us that the neighborhood is not pretty and stuff so we mow the lawn at the foreclosed house, but it's getting so hot no one wants to mow it, but we feel we have to for our old neighbor(the crying one.) So whos job is it, like the county the bank or what?

  2. It's YOUR turn darling. Now, don't mope around all day and waste all our quality time.See that you get it done, so you can help me getting to the shop!!

  3. The job falls to no one- so you- the Good Samaritan gets to have the job- I am impressed!

    Good job!

  4. The bank owns the house, it's their problem. But don't hold your breath waiting for them to fix it. Are there any rules in your town about it? Maybe they are violating a town law?

  5. I talked to code enforcement, the police and the recontrust company that took a foreclosed house to auction in our neighborhood to ask just that.  It is the bank or the recontrust's responsibility for upkeep on their foreclosed house, but our city has no way to force them to do it.  So my hubby and I fixed the fence and did some minor maintenance and now keep the hedges trimmed, weeds pulled and remove grass.  Don't worry, the lawn will die off with no water in short order.  If you care about your neighborhood, your house value and attracting the right kind of buyer at auction, you will spend the time like we do caring for the curb appeal.

  6. yes it should be the banks responsibilty to hire a privit lawn mowing business to go over once a week or so. The county will do it if it starts looking like the amazon because its city ordince.

  7. well, if it's foreclosed then

    it's the banks problem

    ...too bad they don't care!

they'll do something if it gets out of hand, though.

do you PERSONALLY have a problem with it?

they've got the problem, THEY should be mowing it.

if you don't, why would you mow that

lawn for the sake of the cranky old people?!

you're just too nice, aren't you?

good for you, we need people like you.

    anyways, good luck

  8. Where I live the foreclosure homes lawns are the responsibility of the bank that owns it.

Call your city auditor & asked them who you need to contact about the property Or ask if the city, themselves contacts the bank.

In my city they just passed a law that if lawns are over 8 inches high the owners will be fined & for repeat offenders they can go to jail. That includes banks that has these foreclosure homes.
