  1. Fedor has not been defeated by anyone yet except by way of cut, and he has fought so many world ranked people.I just have to give it to him.

  2. Fedor

  3. Anderson Silva or  FEDOR

  4. Best overall fighter has to be either GSP, Cung Le, or Silva.  I'd give the nod to GSP right now because his list of wins is a bit better, but I still think Silva is better than GSP, and after another two or three fights he'll pass GSP if he doesn't buckle (I see GSP losing soon, unfortunately).

Fedor, Fedor, FEDOR!  for crying out loud, FEDOR!  He's definitely the best heavyweight right now, no question, and I admit that there is nobody in the UFC or any other heavyweight division who can beat him (I've been called a "UFC fanboy" recently.  Who knows where that came from.  Probably because I like many UFC fighters and I think Fedor is overrated.), but to say he's the best overall fighter is just crazy.  I think he's too slow and lumbering to be even considered.  I think if Arlovski gets a shot at Fedor, he might take Fedor, even though I think Fedor wins two out of three agianst the Pit Bull.  Fedor isn't a striker who can take advantage of Arlovski's glass jaw like Sylvia did.

When you talk about the best fighters you have to talk about guys who can kill you before you even know they moved.  Guys like Faber, GSP, Silva, and Cung Le are those guys.  When you say best MMA figher, you are saying the guy with the best combination of striking, ground and pound, grappling, throws, footwork and kicks.  This is what the first "M" in MMA stands for, MIXED.  GSP or Silva would have to be the obvious choice.  When you talk about best overall fighter, Fedor is too large, Faber is too small, and Cung Le needs to be seen by more people, even though he is undefeated in every martial arts and MMA match he's ever competed in (26-0 combined, I believe).

  5. You're insane. Fedor is actually very fast and explosive. He hits hard and is very accurate. Especially for  a heavyweight. You said that he's too large and Faber is too small. What the h**l is that supposed to mean? The best pound for pound is based on dominance and performance not size or aesthetic. Fedor and Silva are the best and most dominant fighters in the World right now.

  6. "Emelianenko has been considered the best heavyweight fighter in the world for the last five years by many major publications, including ESPN, the Orange County Register, The Fight Network, the Houston Chronicle, The Wrestling Observer, and Inside MMA. In addition to holding notable individual wins over K-1 Super heavyweight champion Semmy Schilt, former PRIDE and current UFC champion Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira (twice), Pride 2005 Open weight champion Mirko Filipović, former UFC Heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia, and Mark Hunt, he has won numerous tournaments and accolades in multiple sports, most notably the PRIDE 2004 Grand Prix and the World Combat Sambo Championship on four occasions, as well as medaling in the Russian national judo championships. His sole loss, via doctor stoppage due to a cut via an illegal blow, is considered a mere technicality, which he decisively avenged."

There's your answer - Fedor Emelianenko. He has an official mixed martial arts (MMA) record of twenty-nine (29) wins, one (1) loss, and one draw. Both the loss to Tsuyoshi Kohsaka and the no contest when facing Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira were only accidents, and Fedor would then manage defeat the both of them in the rematches.

  7. Call me crazy but pound for pound Eddie Alvarez

  8. anyone that can destroy Tim sylvia in half a minute, gets my

    vote....Fedor.

Now if you're asking who is the meanest ...tis my girl friend.

  9. I would probably say that the best pound for pound fighter in the world is Urijah Faber of the WEC. I don't see who could possibly beat him in his weight class. He last fight with Jens Pulver was good but he still basically dominated. I think that he should fight BJ Penn and the winner of that I would consider the best in the world. Urijah would have to go up a weight class though. Yes Fedor is a great fighter but he needs to fight some of the UFC's best before I call him the best.

  10. Fedor---

The question didn't ask pound for pound.  Even if it did, I would still say Fedor.

He is dominant.  He outstrikes Mirko, out wrestles wrestlers, submits Sylvia, beats Nog  twice.  And he is a big dude.  So the combination of size, strength, skill is all there.

All the other great fighters that have been mentioned all display those characteristics too...GSP, Silva, BJ Penn, Faber, but they haven't dominated like Fedor has (except for Faber, I will give you that) and they don't have his size.

The dude hasn't lost a match (well one, does anyone know how?), has never looked in trouble, I would take Fedor in an open weight tournament any day...

  11. ME!!!!!

  12. Faber pound for pound

  13. Anderson "The Spider" Silva. Don't really care too much for the guy, but no one can hold a candle to him right now.
