  1. Since Jamaica is a SOVEREIGN COUNTRY, and not a part of the USA, it doesnt have a representative in the US senate. (why the h**l would we need one?)

We have a Prime Minister. We also have Members of Parliment who are elected representives of people from different geographic zones (constituencies) across the island.

There is SENATE in Jamaica, but it performs a different role in our system of Government. Recently, a young politician - Senator Kern Spencer, was arrested for fraud charges. I don't know much about what the other senators in Jamaica do.

  2. We have people in the senate. They can also be used as ministers of government, e.g. Senator Colonel Trevor Macmillan who was recently appointed minister of National Security and Justice is a Senator. The president of the Jamaican Agricultural Society, Norman Grant is a senator.

The following is a list of all government and opposition senators. Some are still senators but sides have changed as the JLP recently took office as government so the opposition senators are now government and vice versa.

  3. There is no senator of Jamaica, we have a prime minister and elected members of Parliament.

  4. There's no senator in Jamaica; the Prime Minister is Bruce Golding
