  1. Currently:

Tim Lincecum- This kid is absolutely phenomenal. He is playing for the SF Giants, who are 29th in runs scored this year, yet he has still tallied 12 wins, with a 2.67 ERA, and is leading the majors with 182 strikeouts. He is only 24 years old, and is 5-10 and 165 lbs soaking wet. I have even heard that sometimes he gets stopped outside of stadiums because the entrance workers don't believe he is really a MLB player due to his size. I mean, come on, what a stud!

I also love Chase Utley, but Lincecum outweighs him in my mind!

    Of all-time:

Ozzie Smith- First of all, yes, I am obviously a Cards fan. Second of all, yeah, I know Ozzie's stats will blow no one away with his career .262 batting average and 28 homeruns (he does have 2460 hits though), but this guy was a freak of an athlete. We are talking absolute dominance in the field! He has tallied up 15 All star games, and 13 gold gloves, but the thing that amazes me more is the way that he drew fans in. St. Louis fans visited Busch Stadium from 1982-1996 consistently just to see this guy play, and he never disappointed. Not only would he flip, literally, onto the field, but his "web gems" would absolute stun you. In fact, go onto youtube sometime and enjoy the show. He was one of the most electrifying players to ever run, or flip, onto a baseball field.

  7. The Big Unit.  In the '90s and early '00s, he was the most feared pitcher in the game.  He isn't as intimidating as he once was but he's still got a little stuff left.  He'll have 300 wins soon and that'll secure his place in the HOF.

Plus, that video of him hitting the bird is a classic!!

  8. Albert Pujols

  9. Only Buzz Jockington and I know.

  10. Ivan Rodriguez "Pudge"

  11. Derek Jeter (I totally agree with Yankee Fever) He's a great guy both on and off the field

  12. jose reyes

  13. Mark Teahen, but Mike Aviles is making a real run at taking over that #1 spot.

  14. This is all kinds of cliche, but I highly respect Derek Jeter. Not because of his butt or whatever people like about him, but because of who he is as a New York Yankee.

Jeter is a leader. Say what you want about defense or about him being overrated, but he is a guy that the media looks to, that his teammates look to, that the world looks to. He knows how to handle the media, he knows how to handle winning.

Someone once described Jeter as a no bullshit kind of guy, and that's what I really like about him. He plays the game and he plays to win. He plays it right. He's not about steroids, he's not about winning batting titles and MPVs.

He's about winning championships. He knows what's required of him, he knows what it means to be a Yankee. He honors the pinstripes and will forever be remembered as a great Yankee.

Besides Jeter, Jack Wilson of the Pittsburgh Pirates gets my vote. Jack plays on a losing team with trade rumors flying about him every day. Yet he always managed to leave it all on the field and play with a smile. He's upbeat, he's all about charities, and he seems like a great guy. He's always been kind in interviews and I've never heard a negative thing about him.
