Whose Neuroscience programs are better? WUSTL or UPenn?

I am trying to decide between the two schools, so any information is helpful. Also, is there a huge difference between the two academically since Washington University in St. Louis is ranked slightly lower than University of Pennsylvania?

UPenn has more going on at the research level, and this is why it is ranked higher. This means that the professors at UPenn are making a bigger splash in the world of neuroscience. This doesn't really say anything about an undergrad education - in fact, those who are really focused on research have less time to invest in teaching (though I am in this position and spend a great deal of effort on teaching).

I'd recommend visiting both and seeing which of the two is more comfortable for you. Being at a better school should not be the goal, it's more a matter of finding the better fit. They are both great schools.
