  11. On the contrary, Baseball is a univsal sport played around the world. Other than the U.S. ,Canada, and Japan It is played in: Australia, China, Colombia, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, the Netherlands Antilles, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico, South Afica, Saudi_Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan,  The United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela

2007 saw the first professional baseball league in the Middle East when the Israel Baseball League (IBL) opened with 6 teams each playing a modified 45 game schedule

The International Baseball Federation (IBAF) is the worldwide governing body for the sport of baseball. It sanctions play between teams sponsored by the national baseball federations of member countries through competition tournaments including the Baseball World Cup, the World Baseball Classic (in conjunction with Major League Baseball), the Intercontinental Cup, and the Olympic baseball tournament (in conjunction with the International Olympic Committee).

There also the following international organizations:

African Baseball & Softball Association (ABSA) - 16 member countries

Baseball Confederation of Oceania (BCO) - 15 member countries

Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) - 20 member countries

Confederation of European Baseball (French:Confédération Européenne de Baseball) (CEB) - 40 member countries

Pan American Baseball Confederation (Spanish:Confederación Panamericana de Béisbol) (COPABE) - 26 member countries

That makes about 117 countries were baseball is played. There is so much Baseball being played ( and played year round) that one could create a baseball channel.

I do know that the brits have cricket list as sport for 2012, a game only played in England, Australia and South Africa. One should ask "Whose idea was it to make cricket an olympic event?"

The IOC may bring softball and baseball back in to the Olympics after a final vote in 2010 during the Vancouver Winter Olympics. The two slots left available by the IOC's elimination were not filled by new sports, so both baseball and softball can reemerge as events in the 2016 Olympics, provided no new sports are adopted into the games and both receive enough votes to be included.

Speculation over reasons for removal of baseball and softball from the Olympic games include IOC anger at American "Major League Baseball for refusing to suspend the season and allow Major League Baseball players to participate in the Olympics, the "domination of American women in softball", the way Major League Baseball tests and punishes its players for drugs, the unpredictable length of baseball games, a pro-Europe bias of the IOC, and an anti-American bias of the IOC.

I think we, as Americans (and even Canadians) should demand that, 1, the 2016 Olympics be held in Chicago, and 2, that it include Baseball, and eliminate cricket. Let's stand up for our National pastime.

  12. Darts i think would be our only hope

  13. Given that baseball is the same as netball, only with funny blokes playing it, Britain could maybe introduce drunken abuse or vandalism.

  14. Darts perhaps..........Phil Taylor would win a few:)

  15. Team and individual whingeing - we're the best in the world at that.
