  1. (Psa 66:18) "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:"

God listens to those who have repented of their sins, and do not justify the breaking of any of God's commandments in their hearts.

  2. God hears everyones' prayers, but He doesn't have to answer unless you are serious in your heart to Him and have faith (Hebrews 11:6, "...for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.").

    Matthew 7:7-8  Jesus said...

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

  3. I am going to sit back and watch all the answers that pop up. Waves to my brothers and sisters

  4. Let me guess... just you, and people exactly like you.

  5. *Flaps back*  OvO

Jehovah knows every ones hearts as well as our wants and needs. Does that mean we shouldn't pray at all? Of course not.

    1 Peter 3:12 shows us...

For the eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous ones, and his ears are toward their supplication but the face of Jehovah is against those doing bad things.

We should always pray with FAITH as it is impossible to please Him well without it. Praying with faith also shows Jehovah our willingness to seek HIM and will draw us closer to HIM.

Jehovah requires that we should only pray to HIM.  Jehovah tells us in Ex. 20:5 ~~~  "I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion"

In addition to praying to God, we must also take heed of Jesus words at John 14:6 and always pray to Jehovah God in Jesus name.

[Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."]

Why? Because it shows Jehovah that we acknowledge his only son, Jesus sacrifice for us and that we are followers of Jesus.

As followers of Jesus, we must also take heed of his directions on HOW to pray; in a way that sanctifies Jehovah's name, for HIS kingdom, and HIS will be done.  Consider Mathew 6:9-13

You must pray then this way: Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.Give us today our bread for this day and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one.

  6. He listens to anyone's prayer.

whatever that is, may it be a prayer or a casual talk to Him, He listens.

  7. All of our prayers must be in harmony with Gods will.

"And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that, no matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us."

    1John 5:14

Prayers can be hindered due to sin.

"If I have regarded anything hurtful in my heart,

    Jehovah will not hear [me]."

    Psalm 66:18

"You husbands, continue dwelling in like manner with them according to knowledge, assigning them honor as to a weaker vessel, the feminine one, since you are also heirs with them of the undeserved favor of life, in order for your prayers not to be hindered."

    1Peter 3:7

  8. There is one God, and [only] one mediator between God and men, a man Christ Jesus, who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all.” Since this is so, it might be asked, Why did not Jesus include this requirement in the model prayer he gave his disciples? Doubtless because when he gave that prayer he had not fully proved himself. But by the last day of his ministry he had ‘finished the work his Father had given him to do,’ and so he could say: “If you ask the Father for anything he will give it to you in my name. Until this present time you have not asked a single thing in my name. Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.”—John 14:6; 1 Tim. 2:5, 6; John 17:4; 16:23, 24.

Prayer must also be in harmony with God's will.  If one prays in the correct manner that God approves he will hear it.

  9. GOD listens to all who pray. But he also works in mysterious ways.

  10. God only listens when people pray directly to him.  When people try to go through Jesus then God ignores them.  God will not have other gods before him.  If you think that Jesus is God, well, then just pray to God to show that you really mean it.

  11. lately I don't know if its an issue of whether or not he listens, so much as whether or not he cares.....

  12. mine. and the he does exactly the opposite of what i want. that will teach me not to pray.

  13. Those who seek Him in faith. Hebrews 11:6.

  14. God listens to all prayers. We are all His children and He does not value anyone over anyone else.

  15. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. (James 4:3)

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. (James 5:16)

"And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life." (John 6:39-40)

"And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. (John 14:12-14)

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1 John 5:14-15)

  16. No, 'gods' don't exist.

  17. God answers the prayers of individuals pleasing to him. They have the reverential attitude of the psalmist who said: “As the hind that longs for the water streams, so my very soul longs for you, O God. My soul indeed thirsts for God, for the living God.” (Psalm 42:1, 2) Yet, what evidence is there to prove that Jehovah answers the prayers of his true worshipers?Proof That God Answers Prayers

The Bible contains an extensive record proving that Jehovah answers the prayers of his faithful servants. For example, when King Jehoshaphat of Judah prayed for deliverance, God answered his prayer and gave him victory by causing his enemies to smite one another. (2 Chronicles 20:1-26) When King Hezekiah similarly faced a formidable military force, he humbly prayed to God for help. Hezekiah saw the salvation of Jehovah when an angel struck down 185,000 Assyrians in one night.—Isaiah 37:14-20, 36-38.

Why did God answer those prayers? In both cases, the kings pleaded that losing the battle would reflect badly on Jehovah’s name. (2 Chronicles 20:6-9; Isaiah 37:17-20) They were concerned about his reputation. “The ultimate object of prayer,” says The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, “is not merely the good of the petitioner but the honor of God’s name.” Therefore, faithful servants of Jehovah can be sure that he will help them “for the sake of his name.” The record proving that such prayers have been answered gives God’s people confidence that he hears their prayers.—Psalm 91:14, 15; 106:8; Proverbs 18:10.

Even if a situation involves Jehovah’s name, however, God decides whether to answer certain prayers or not. He may have valid reasons not to answer some prayers. If we feel that our prayers are not being heard, it is good to consider why this may be the case.

Why Some Prayers Are Not Answered

“Even though you make many prayers, I am not listening,” Jehovah once told the Israelites. Pointing out the reason, he continued: “With bloodshed your very hands have become filled.” (Isaiah 1:15) How could anyone ignore Jehovah’s law and yet have an audience with him? A Bible proverb gives a clear answer, saying: “He that is turning his ear away from hearing the law—even his prayer is something detestable.”—Proverbs 28:9.

The Bible gives another reason why some prayers are not heard, when it says: “You do ask, and yet you do not receive, because you are asking for a wrong purpose, that you may expend it upon your cravings for sensual pleasure.” (James 4:3) No, Jehovah will not answer prayers for the satisfying of wrong desires. We must also remember that God is not taking orders from humans, so to speak. He is the One who decides how he will answer our prayers.
