  1. I would send him in to pay for the gas. But if he didn't want to go which would be unusual because he likes to handle money and try out responsibility, than yes I would leave him in the car.

  2. Err, yes! And younger.

They're more alone than this every single breaktime at school!

  3. Yeah! Both my parents did that when I was about five. If you're worried tell them to lock the door and only let you in. However, a 10 year old should have more common sense than that.

  4. yes.  Unless the child was incredibly immature and would get into everything possible

  5. I guess it depends on the child. If the child needed extra supervision then maybe not but the majority of 10 yr olds I've ever met would be perfectly fine with being left in a car for that little amount of time. If you are concerned about whether someone may take them while you are paying for your gas then the same rules apply for stranger danger as anywhere else. If you are too worried just make sure you take your keys with you and lock the car doors (keep the window down a little).

  6. If the 10 year old understood they are to stay in the car until you return and you are not gone more then 8 minutes yeah then i would.

  7. of course!

  8. of course.

  9. I don't really see anything wrong with it.  I would definitely lock the doors, take the keys, and tell them not to unlock the doors for anyone but you.  On the other hand my son is 7 and I leave him in the car while I pump the gas, but take him into the station.  Its not that I don't trust him to stay in the car alone, I don't trust the wacko's that are out there.

  10. Yes even though I mostly pay at the pump anyway and my middle son who is just turned 11 usually will get out and help me do it because he likes to.

My youngest is 8 and I wouldn't leave him though. I would have him come in with me if I had to go in. If there weren't so many sickos in the world I would feel better about letting kids be in the car alone.

I don't think there is anything wrong with leaving older children in the car while you pay but I also don't think anyone who takes their kids in with them are crazy or over protective. It just means they care about their kids or maybe the kids like going in.

  11. At 10 I used to catch the bus into town with my 8 year old sister and then home again, without ever the slightest problem. At 10 it is not that many years before they can drive the car, I think they can manage to sit in it for a couple of minutes.

I guess it's just a lot scarier living in the US

  12. yes, of course it would only take 2mins to pay.  And shes 10, what she gonna do?

  13. yes, you can keep an eye on them the whole time so why not

  14. yes, but take the keys with you.lol

  15. The probobility that someone will carjack the car or otherwise have the child come to harm in the car is probobly less than the probobility that the child will get struck by the many cars pulling in/out of the station.  Each probobility is very small and not worth worrying about.

I would take the keys and lock the car.

  16. just cause you wanted  something from the shop

  17. Um... yeah. Where are you going to pay for gas? Argentina? Christ...

  18. who wouldnt?

    r u serious?

she dosent need f***king super vision 24 7!!!!!!!!!!

  19. YESS DERR WHO DSNT !!!

    cut the umbilical cord!!!!!!!!1

  20. I use those pay posts at the pump

  21. Yes, because I pay at the pump. I'll be right there so I don't see the problem. I don't carry cash often (not enough for gas anyway) so I don't think I'll ever need to deal with this.

  22. Depends on the child actually. I leave my 8 yr old in the car alone or with my younger 2 kids because she is very mature and knows not to talk to strangers, but if she's not with me, then my other 2 go in the store with me reguardless of what I am paying for. I also keep a very close eye on my car and park right next to the windows so that I can see out there. I also only go to certain stores (live in small town) and the clerks help keep an eye on them too.

  23. the kid is 10 their old enough to be left in a car while you pay for gas its not like your going to be gone for an hour

  24. I don't see why you shouldn't unless the kid has something wrong with them.

  25. I have.....she reads all the time. i just lock the door if I go inside to get drinks.
