Whre is a cool place to go in San Francisco to meet people?

I am 28 and new to SF. I want to meet some cool people. I am not interested in hanging out at the bar/club scene anymore. I partied enough and want to start to settle down. where are some cool places to meet people (females) on a nice sunny day like today?

I suggest you head for two cool clubs.

The Ram Rod and the Manhole.  If the "girls" look a little masculine, just assume its the lighting.

Pier 39.  Lots of tourists but lots of locals working the shops!

Everywhere! Just start up a conversation! Try craigslist.org in the platonic section

i guess everywhere. im new in SF too but i found people are so friendly. i never thought that they can be this friendlier. why not try in some places like parks and coffee shops or downtown..just go around and look friendly.

1.  Crissy Field - and bring a dog.

2.  Ferry Building Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings, if you want to meet girls who love to cook.  ;-)

3.  Upper Fillmore in Pacific Heights - buy a controversial book and sit outside at a coffee house reading it with the title showing.

4.  Marina Safeway.  Produce section.  Just be careful what kinds of fruits you squeeze.

5.  Join the Sierra Club and go on hiking trips.

6.  Find a good community service group and do some volunteer work.

7.  Join Bay Area Linkup.
